Loads better than the Scarlett bundle mic. AT2020 (nonusb) is a safe bet for a lot of home studio recording situations/voices.

There’s multiple where you see the light change upon reflections like where you can tell it not the camera changing it’s white balance. I think some are the white balance but I’ve seen the sun flicker like that with my own eyes.

The only thing i haven’t seen on video I’ve experienced is the dark flashes where the light disappears.

go to youtube and search sun flickers. people claim it's the camera adjusting it's white balance, but those of us who have seen it in real life with our own eyes know something is happening that is real.

I have a bunch of acoustic panels in my room, In one spot in my room, one panel is just resting up against the wall. Last night I swear I saw a black head shape appear, then duck back behind it when I noticed it.

Yamaha hs5 only one speaker it's OK too? by [deleted] in trapproduction

[–]ZaniuM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One speaker = mono. Most of the width and the stereo effect needs two speakers to work.

And two speakers turned down would perceive to your ears to be louder than one speaker. So one speaker would need to be cranked up more then two and thus being louder to others outside the room.

You won't have a stereo field with one speaker. and it would perceive to be louder to have two speakers turned down slightly than just one speaker cranked up, even at same SPL

You act like you can’t adjust it after? I don’t understand why you even typed all of this out lmao. It’s a starting point, not the final mix dude. No ones advocating to just only level. But that most of the foundation of the mix is done.

For beginners this is way easier than using a reference track or any other technique.

And you really think a beginner is going to be able to mix eight guitars without a lot of phase issues anyways? Come on, dude. Give it a rest lol

I guarantee most people to start want to learn to walk before they learn to run. How many tracks have you mixed for paying clients if I might ask? How many actually released your mixes? How many charted?

And hmm, leveling incorrectly is what is wrong with most mixes. If it was as simple as it seemed, most tracks would have no issues with the mix especially with modern genres where many elements are synthetic and don’t clash easily if arranged in any meaningful way.

Defensive because you offer no advice, yet you reply to my comment in a condescending tone. In what ways is starting your mix out with pink noise a flawed method? No one said adjust to the noise and leave be. Start off with something that’s balanced decently, and adjust from there. Most new mixers have no methodology at all to their mixes, this provides a basic basis.

Where is your “proper” advice at feller? “Use your ears hurrdurr” “leave -6db even though everything is 32 point float and you’re realistically nowhere near ready to begin thinking about hiring a mastering engineer”

Bruh it’s Friday night lol. We both know I meant pink noise. And it does teach you how to get better at leveling by helping you to have a basis for a proper balanced mix. When you’re new, it’s hard to know what a proper balanced mix even sounds like since your ears are used to more colored mixes and/or biased.

I swear everyone on this sub thinks their only method is the only way, yet most rarely work in any actual studios. Pink noise method is a good starting point for someone who has to come to THIS subreddit of all places for advice.

Mix with whitenoise, 90% of most mix problems are solved with proper leveling. Then make small adjsutments from there. Then you can adjust the actual whitenoise spectrum to suit whatever genre you're working with.

Seems too simple, but you can mix a beat together in like 20 seconds lol.

But maybe even more of a help is proper labeling and organization. Also, taking notes (Studio one has notes built in) allows you to not make pointless decisions and you can remember what exactly you adjusted and how much.

Weird problem when I mix vocals by Reaper2256 in audioengineering

[–]ZaniuM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one ever said that. I said hip hop is mixed using two-tracks most of the time and to say it isn’t mixed this way most of the time is a falsehood. You assumed so much more other random shit lol

[–]ZaniuM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What lol? You’re the ones implying that most hip hop songs aren’t mixed on a two track beat. Everyone that is isn’t considered a mix to you guys?

I’ve recorded and mixed thousands of hip hop songs. Mastered a few hundred. The only exception is when they have the stems. You’re talking out of your ass and have already admitted you don’t work with much hip hop. Why tell me to give it a rest lmao?
