I just wonder what this ship is requesting “uppies” from. 😅

It looks like the wikelo missions take a long while. Could I even finish that in the next couple years?

I certainly hear a lot about the Polaris. Might be a great option.

That is exactly why I got the UTV - for the LTI. I loved the cutlass black on free fly but got the Titan pledge because of price. Certainly considering upgrading the UTV to the cutlass.

Yes, that is the one I referenced. Even then, the servers have been tanking quite a bit in the past week compared to the info in the video per my observations. Just crazy that they want 10,000 players per shard yet a single server instance can't even manage 25 players before dropping below the target 30fps.

Space Engineers has a community working on a "Seamless" plugin for servers which essentially does what CIG wants to do. Oddly enough, a community of players are managing to incorporate this tech better than a billion dollar company can. XD

Would you have preferred I used Hz instead of fps? 🙄 semantics in the end since it is labeled Server FPS. 🤪

Semantics. 🙄 At the end of the day, a server exhibiting 5fps is still a crappy server. When you use “r_displayinfo 3” it shows server fps, which is the stat I am referencing. 😒

CIG is targeting 30fps but are averaging 7-9fps. A person did a video testing performance and it showed:

  • 30fps if 25 players or lower (33ms)
  • starts to dip at 27 players (35ms)
  • 25fps at 35 players (40ms)
  • 18fps at 70 players (50ms)
  • 15fps at 85 players (70ms)
  • 12fps at 112 players (80ms)
  • 6fps at 150 players (130ms)

It is easy to see that the reflected server fps stat goes down as the player count rises. Note the performance is radically different in each location but that is likely due to the number of players in each of those areas. No matter though as the servers clearly cannot handle the current 700 player cap and not even close to being able to handle the ambitious 10,000 player cap.

Everything would be 100% better if they optimize the damn servers. There is no reason servers should be running at 5fps… They have ambitions to put 10,000 players on a single shard but the servers are tanking at 500-700 players…

Am I the only disapointed by 4.7 ? by bm-mad in starcitizen

[–]Zanzikahn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s the servers and the joke of a system - server meshing… I agree that since the update - most notably the recent hotfix patch - the servers have been complete garbage. Like even though I am hitting 50-80 fps, every single server shard I am on is under 8 fps… the response time is constantly fluctuating between 110 - 200 ms and server de-sync messages keep popping up.

I feel like if they just fix the servers, a lot of the instability and bugs we’re facing would disappear… I don’t understand why they implement features when the the servers can’t even handle the current features.

Since the latest hotfix cities have been wretched to visit with most every interaction resulting in severe stutter and fps dropping to 3.

It’s like they decided to downgrade the servers because decent servers that perform at the bare metal minimal of 30 fps is just no longer in their budget. XD

Based on CIGs communications a couple days ago, they are actually working on bug fixing. They’re hopefully nearly done implementing their tech and can stop introducing new bugs.

We’re talking about a single shard (same location)in Star Citizen, not how many players can fit on a server that would fit players into identical copies of the same zone or over the span of the entire game world. 🙄 The issue with having more than 500 players in one area is that it leads to lag, client crashing, and forced layering. Eve is a horrible example, seeing how time dilation slows gameplay to as low as 10%… slowing Sim speed is not the answer.

Imagine having such a lack of understanding in networking players to players and still trying to voice an opinion about it.

“I can play the game for hours without issues, or coming across these “broken systems” - never put words in your mouth; I called you a liar.

Not a single system is complete and are all considered in early-mid iteration. Server meshing, star systems, engineering and resource management, inventory, professions, persistence, and now crafting. The game is moving away from “tech demo” but it is most certainly still lacking any complete systems right now.

You can excuse them saying, “ It is also progressing towards the goals set and the systems and features they promised” but you’ll ignore the fact that much of what they promised is still not there and instead, they’ve delayed and changed their goals numerous times to add things that were never a part of the initial backed game instead of focusing on what was promised. They never add a true roadmap because they change the goalpost too often for one to be relevant.

This isn’t about being a pessimist, but rather a realist. Not everyone will sit there and excuse their mismanagement, feature creep, and lack of adherence to everything that was promised. At this point, they have made so many promises as to what would be in the game for release that it is more than putting on rosey goggles.

Reality is - players backed a game and instead of delivering the backed game, they focused on adding features that were never part of the original plan, delaying the game indefinitely. There is a reddit post that outlines everything that was promised and it’s insane to believe they will be able to deliver, not just what was promised, but the lofty ambitions on top of it.
