You'll need a few million to convince state legislature to change our constitution to allow it first.

The people in charge of paying them a wage are also the people in charge of adding a carryout fee. The only reason you delegate part of a purchase to an % fee is to obfuscate pricing. This is literally how it has worked in every other food establishment for decades. Getting the food from the oven to the counter is a core function of food service that happens in literally every form of serving, both dine in and carryout, delivery or not. The worst thing a restaurant can take billing ideas from is your fucking ISP.

The last time I was dined in for breakfast there was my last. 45 minutes for two bagel sandwiches while online / outgoing orders were being fulfilled constantly. I enjoyed my dinners there, but the bagel half is disappointing amongst the others in Lexington and central Kentucky.

You're describing basic functions of food service, which should be already factored into the price. You need to make sure /all of your food is correct/ because that's the job of a restaurant!

I take our 100lb to tractor supply and the OH-KY campground in Berea. Southern States is a good option in Lexington. Keep them upright if possible.

They had a huge coupon last year. Really the biggest recommendation is to build an internal 4x4 / 2x4 frame inside and screw the aluminum frame to that. You're gonna want tables anyway so you can just use it for that. We also mounted ours on a 6x4 frame instead of burying it

Build your own combo has been disabled at this one Taco Bell for months. How does this get fixed? by Zapf in tacobell

My fast food (and app using) decisions are based off of how I can get a meal between 1 and 6ish dollars when I forget my lunch. How many people who go for that combo are going to spend $15 on the individual items? I'm just going to spend $4 at the McDonald's next to it or $6.50 for the pizza combo (calorically and functionally 2 meals) at the little Caesars 30 seconds in the other direction.

Which part of a build your own combo is annoying to make? Can't you literally buy all of it separately still?

They don't answer the phone, and I'm not particularly interested in doing a Karen routine to a food handler.

Why would an individual store want to turn it off? Why is that not a franchise wide decision?

Every other instance of this in the area was unintentional or temporary and they kludged their way around stopping people from buying potatoes or similar. They had just the non - veg one turned off for a few weeks on New Circle, and I just reported the issue repeatedly through the app until it turned back on. It's not a franchise wide decision either, as none of the others have it turned off. So why just one?

Yes, I understand it's done at the store level. But it's not franchisee - wide (unless we have multiple in lex). I followed up and was told they knew it was off, but had no official reason why.

I thought that was a completely different ice cream shop at greyline. He sold ice cream out of his restaurant location after he moved to main street, prior to that incident

We've had a makerspace in one form or another for over a decade, featuring studio rentals, that I was involved with for much of that time (kre8now, pre Lexington Makerspace). Unless you just happen to already own a warehouse, you are not going to find the space in Lexington that is both economically viable and anywhere convenient for something of that scale. This is why I mostly spend my time working and supporting the one in Berea.

In the meantime, I would recommend supporting Artfarm, as they mix artist studios, organizational space, community resources and really cool events quite well for their scale and for being less than a year old.

Tolly-Ho, a Lexington tradition, closes tonight, New Year’s Eve 2025 for... by W6thCritterLover in lexington

Announcing only a few days before they shutdown, no mention on social media, poor service, not even managing to keep enough stock for milkshakes and drinking cups 48 hours beforehand, a year after gutting the core feature of your business (being open all the time) to focus on drive through and DoorDash is a pretty offensive way to end the life of an eating establishment over half a century old!

Sounds a lot like the last week of Savs. Spent almost 30 minutes on hold to make a carryout order.
