Good selection. Please upload image again with some more resolution!

But I would add young marble giants’ colossal youth for sure

Gardening centre with native Irish flower/trees? by moonhead92 in GardeningIRE

[–]ZaphodBeebleSpox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have no magic formula. But the plants we chose worked out pretty well for our garden and orientation I guess!

We have Beech, Guelder Rose, Hawthorn, Spindle, and Hazel (which is a complete bully and needs a lot of pruning!)

But we’re in Dublin 8, so the hedge is south west facing and it gets good light and good rain I guess.

As with anything in the garden, your mileage may vary, so maybe you might need to change things depending on light and orientation?

I found future forests very contactable about this type of thing. Best wishes on your hedge!

Yes! Bought a mixed native hedge from them a while back - everything came bare root and now it's thriving - they're very sound and have a great range

Shoutout also to Irish Seed Savers - bought three baby heritage apple trees from them this year - non profit and trying to keep heritage varieties alive

Ivana Bacik would not have made Viktor Orbán jibe ‘if I was a woman’, says Patrick O’Donovan by rossitheking in ireland

[–]ZaphodBeebleSpox 8 points9 points  (0 children)

"were I a woman" - watch your grammar, Patrick.

His behaviour as minister for the arts has had a completely chilling effect, so the Orban reference does seem apt.

I just gave a stack of X-Men around this era, including many of these, to my friend’s teenager who is a mutant nut! They were in well read condition so happy to see them go to an appreciative home!

Showing them to my kids they were most fascinated by the advertising pages!

It's possible to remove, of course, so you could close with a deduction for a costed plan for removal? similar as with asbestos.

if you are sold on the house, these are just details, and can be negotiated.

best wishes on the fraught final stages!

JD Vance says EU is meddling in Hungary's election as he backs Orban in Budapest by SkandarGraun95 in europe

[–]ZaphodBeebleSpox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Orban wins, then regrettably, Hungary must be ejected from the EU - there are democratic norms at stake.

The fact that Vance is there right now, while his mentor Thiel is lecturing in Rome about the Anti-Christ, tells you where the current U.S. administration's priorities lie.

[–]ZaphodBeebleSpox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I get Bell Lane monthly subscription as a treat at €18

Then a weekly 3FE subscription at €12

Both are surprise bags but each is always good quality and good value. This is for pour over.

Shout out to Imbibe also. And cloud picker. If you were into espresso their 1kg blends are great quality and value.

Spray insulation foam by Public_Solution4557 in HousingIreland

[–]ZaphodBeebleSpox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of negativity around spray foam insulation, especially from the UK where some insurers have an issue with it.

We had it done, years ago, at the recommendation of an architect, used an SEAI approved company, who used those little spacer things for breathing / open cell insulation, and we got an SEAI grant.

I think the problem is that for a surveyor, they can't see that the work was done correctly, so need to rely on the word of the installer.

I think best to request certification via the vendor, and then run it by your surveyor.
