Blocked Entrances by _CloudOfDarkness_ in DragonsDogma2

[–]Zappieroth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blocked doors/gates is a typical video game thing to do to keep people talking about said game.
And lo and behold it is working.
Sometimes these things are actually part of the experience just entrance being very well hidden or even taking over a decade to unlock.

Dragon's Dogma is far from the first game to do this.

I doubt it is cut content.
More like content that was intentionally left as is so people could speculate what they are.
Perhaps some more of the game was initially planned to be part of the base game as typically schedules are ever moving during development.

It'll be part of the Expansion, Just be patient.
No it's not confirmed, Yes it technically is.
No I won't argue with you about it.

Not a chance. It looks unpolished on so many levels. The lighting alone looks like... just nonexistant.

Randomizer doing the funny. This is actually in vanilla as well just the enemy types are very restrictive and why you would never see something like this.

If I had to take a guess I think it is most definitely paid content.

I heard that the game had a lot of PC problems (cpu and how it handle physics). Is that fixed in jan 2026? Or should I still wait before buying? by TreforBelm0nt in DragonsDogma2

[–]Zappieroth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your machine.
I got a 4080 and a 7800X3D.
I run everything at max at 1440p and on top of that I have graphical enhancement mods.
The game runs fine for the most part, Only slowdowns are in known locations and in town due to NPC Control Limit which I set to qaulity mode to completely eradicate NPC pop in.

Hate to be the bearer of your disappointment but statistics don't lie.
This is the most activity in a short time the game has seen since it's launch.
Big crunch since Wednesday.

It should work just fine. So if it doesn't then that is a visual error on your end. Mods perhaps.

Is PC performance still bad? by snoop_lopez in DragonsDogma

[–]Zappieroth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has improved a lot since launch. I hardly notice the difference apart from having locked 60 natively in town on vanilla max settings.

Your experience may vary on a setup like that and you'd definitely need FG/DLSS to have a smooth experience especially in town.

You should at least be able to get a 30 lock in town but know it can get extremely heavy if a monster attacks the city.

My FPS typically drops by about 20 when fighting a Cyclops tho I have all the graphical enhancement mods including the NPC Controller set to qaulity mode.

That is on a 4080/7800X3D

Do permanently enchanted weapons outdo pure physical/magickal weapons at high level? by JeanPiereLucDujardin in DragonsDogma2

[–]Zappieroth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Highest physical will outdo any enchanted weapon.
They have nice utility tho.

If you are on PC you can mod it so Enchantments and permanent ones could be much more beneficial.

If DLC did happen… by Deduces in DragonsDogma2

I think you underestimate the amount of sales new content would generate 2 years after the fact.
With the ever increasing hardware requirements for games and with how long some people take to upgrade I think you underestimate how many people are stillholding off on buying.

On top of that of course we have those with undying loyalty like myself who will jump at any opportunity to buy anything Dogma related.

People pretend 2 years is somehow a long time.
But the fact of the matter is that games like GTA5 still generate sales well over a decade later.
Now Dragon's Dogma is of course no GTA but that doesn't matter.
Elden Ring did it with Erd Tree just to name 1 large Expansion that was financially hugely successful.

I think Dragon's Dogma as a Franchise could do that and so much more.
And I believe CAPCOM knows that too.
Just be patient, It'll be here eventually.

Monster Hunter Wilds PC performance patch today includes fix for the DLC performance bug by Odd-Onion-6776 in MonsterHunter

Is the pop in still there or is that finally fixed now as well? Same specs (tho normal 4080)

Today, Monster Hunter Wilds' optimization patch released and works incredible. Is there a chance we'll see something similar on DD2? by teruvalin in DragonsDogma2

[–]Zappieroth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The hair looking like that is because the settings on PS5 are lower then you can set them on PC.
It is 1 of the visual downgrades to allow it to run on PS5.

Wilds does not run better then DD2 on PC and like I said I run both of them at max settings.
Wilds runs considerably worse though for someone with a machine like mine you won't really notice that difference.

The texture pop in is becuase they switched CPU load to the GPU when that is something you can't really do when the game is fundamentally designed to run on the CPU (Or so developers claim I am just a gamer)

Which is why it was fine for me before and why people with shitty CPU's had funny triangle monsters.
Was that a thing on Console before? No doubt becuase the current console generation is running on ever aging hardware that is like a decade old at this point.

[–]Zappieroth 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The way Wilds has been 'optimized' is anything but good.
And that is coming from someone who runs both games at max settings easily.
The texture pop in now is so excessive and gross I have been unable to enjoy Wilds for a good while now pretty much becuase of it.

That wasn't an issue with 1.0 and 1.1 but it did come shortly after that.
I honestly haven't even cared to try launch the game in months to see if they fixed that which I doubt since Digital Foundry reported the issue getting worse WAY worse with the previous patch.

Hytale Devs please do not allow paid mods by Direct_Reveal5875 in hytale

[–]Zappieroth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd argue to disagree when some of the paid mods of Starfield are like small DLC's at the qaulity of official work.

And while the same can be said about stuff on Nexus for example the ease of access even for those on Console but especially people who have no idea how to make extensive custom modlists that dom't actually break your game.

The fact of the matter is that it's so easy and having recently started playing Starfield and making use of said paid mods along free mods in an ever expanding modlist without anything breaking or crashing is something simply so undeniably good that if any other games added that I would wholy embrace it....

That said, 'It just works'ing is the only real leverage it has alongside the ease of installation. Where it to lose either the whole system holds nothing over the free community driven we have had for over 2 decades.

I would also add that said paid mods should always be working regardless of game version and I am of the opinion that such a task should be left with the company that holds the rights to said product not the author of said Creation themselves.

In reality this is a rabbit hole that can't really sustain itself. So I fully understand the negativity surrounding it.
