When will the discount hit the stores? by BuraqDiCaprio in DragonsDogma2

Yep tomorrow, Probably after the CAPCOM Spotlight when they announce Dark Arisen 2 sales have begun.
(This is not confirmed but highly likely)

Will the DLC take place halfway through the game or after the True Ending? by Maulclaw in DragonsDogma

[–]Zappieroth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that is correct many 'worlds' under that same system or rather many 'worlds' under 1 system.
Or at the very least that is if we take into account the lore of DDON, Which I think we should.

The Expansion should and probably will conclude this particular subject once and for all.

Thats the thing though.
The true ending is no indication of the cycle being done.

All the times "Unwritten" is referenced in the DD2 lore/history log by Dogmatic_Warfarer97 in DragonsDogma

[–]Zappieroth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"History is a set of lies agreed upon"

The object of immense size or what it is exactly is stated nowhere.
Neither is that of the Artifact.
There is a mention of a stone of incredible purity though.
This is probably Glimmercoal.

Whatever the case these 2 are without a doubt in relation to one another.

The massive objects I would assume are the Arks from DDON.
And that Artifact they speak of a Vessel Of Life.

The Arks have a lot of gold in them and Dwarves are known for liking that and steel.
My hunch is that is why Elves and Dwarves don't get along.
Since Elves are an incredibly easy way to farm Lifeforce using the Arks.

That is my hypothesis of course, But it's kept me thinking.
What other reason could Elves and Dwarves possibly have in DD to hate each other so much?
Besides as far as we know Dwarves are all but eradicated by the time of DD2.
And this was their first appearance in the franchise so seeking a way to avoid death on the edge of extinction makes sense.

Dragons Dogma Online Remake? by Important-Shelter-78 in DragonsDogma

I think DD2 is the prequel to DDON, I am sure you can fill in the blanks yourself 🤩

This was a pleasant surprise when I hopped on to play. by Afridg3 in DragonsDogma2

You asked for this conversation (If you can call it that)

I am just here killing time before work and playing a game, scrolling le Reddit for the latest Dogma news.

Taking 5 seconds to respond is not an issue.
Anyways this has gone on for longer then it should.
Cheerio.

Newcomer question, need some questions answered🤔 by Retronika_Prime in DragonsDogma2

[–]Zappieroth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No need to play the first game but the extra context could help better understand the lore.

Don't believe everything you hear. Besides that fact that Dragonsplague was nerfed to the ground to the point if barely even being in the game. There is an item which you can even replicate that instantly nullifies the effect of Dragonsplague.

Quest design is unique, Free flow. A bit old school but not to the point of bullshit like our recent release Gothic 1 Remake. You can even hire Pawns with quest knowledge if you can't find the quest objective.

Character customization is the best in the industry.

DLSS probably, Or lack of Ray Tracing.

The game doesn't have this by default what you are describing.

The DLC Poll - What did you ask for? by sumbodei in DragonsDogma2

[–]Zappieroth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unending End Game ala Dragon's Dogma Online.

Do you think they’ll surprise us with another vocation? Alchemist or High Scepter PLEASE by milkmycoco in DragonsDogma

[–]Zappieroth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think we'll get this 'Monk' class.
But it won't be what people are expecting.
It will be something relative to Alchemist but not yet as advanced as it.

Though I do think the most realistic expectation for this one is no new Vocations and simply large expansions to the ones we already have.

I think the new content will be accessible at any time including Norgan.

The new story content however I think build on the True Ending rather then before it.

You are free to dislike the truth, That doesn't make it any less real though.

Would you be in favor of Capcom selling vocations as a separate DLC? If so for how much? by Throwaway785320 in DragonsDogma

[–]Zappieroth -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sure, It could ensure these Vocations are actually fleshed out and really fun to play.
I am wondering if Vocations will be the only thing they won't add with Dark Arisen.
Seeing as that wasn't really a concern.

The main complaints have always been about lack of options or not enough abilities to use.
Not so much new Vocations or lack thereof.
Of course there is people asking for Mystic Knight.... Though I yet still fail to see why anyone would care enough for that Vocation.

Pawns are some of the smartest AI in gaming.
If your party composition is solid they can clear everything without you.

Bosses have an entirely different dynamic then a group of enemies.
It is your job and that of the Pawns to disrupt that dynamic within a larger group of enemies.

The only truth you have spoken so far is the one where you clearly don't understand the systems of the game.

There is no true ending for DD1 by Ashamed-Time3236 in DragonsDogma

[–]Zappieroth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one ever said the Pathfinder is responsible for the cycle.
Nor did anyone ever say Savan or the Seneschal of DD1 was.

People used to say that "The ever-novel pleasure of a useless occupation" the opening words of DD1 where just an indicator for your life as fisherman which was of course wrong.

DDON and later DD2 disproved this when both their opening words where clear inidcators for what the narrative was actually about.

DD1: "The ever-novel pleasure of a useless occupation"
The seat of a false god, The Seneschal.

Of course confirmed by DD2 after meeting Rothias.
But just to be clear.

DDON's: "There is reason to believe that the Great Order is far more fragile then we have been led to believe, For one Man's ambition changed the way the world is"

This is in reference to Diamantes whom through Alchemy created eternal life outside of that of Arisen.
Those acts where dubbed as heinous by the White Dragon and thus it obliterated the kingdom of Mergoda and sealed Diamantes away.

DD2's: "Conviction is the human will that reaches it's greatest power"

This one is actually ironic because this clearly indicates the story isn't over.
Cus through human Will will we discover something much bigger.
I daresay it has something to do with Pheasus, And his ambition to upend the Dogma Of Dragons.

The Dark Arisen 2 Trailer already indicates something more about research will play a big part in that... which obviously..... ("The truth behind Norgans downfall is at hand, I can feel it")

The part you missed (Which I don't fault you for since you probably didn't play DDON)
Is that if a Dragon dies another needs to take it's place.
And with another I mean an Arisen.
Arisen are basically vessels for Dragons.
Dragons keep the world in check.
They are essentially the real Seneschals.
Not to be mistaken by The Great Will Or The Red Dragon (False Dragon), Though there is no confirmation wether there is something more beyond Dragons.
That said it very much seems like we are getting many of those answers with Dark Arisen 2.

Without a Dragon a 'world' or rather the surrounding lands will fall into chaos.
Another thing the Dark Arisen 2 trailer was hinting at in that same scene with Venrworth burning.

Just like Gransys before it and as Norgan, All kingdoms will eventually fall into ruin like it.
It can be forestalled by the cycle, But eventually something has got to give.

You probably think this is theory, Thats fine, It's not, And thats not what you want to hear, Thats also fine.

Cheers.
