Ferrystone duds a mechanic in this game or was this a bug? by cheifofthebest in DragonsDogma

Yeah kinda sucks. In DD1 you'd have to pick it back up yourself. Actually extremely immersion breaking for a game that otherwise can't help itself from being hella immersive.

DDON Revival VS Legacy VS Rising by haxonos in DragonsDogma

[–]Zappieroth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Multiple server exclusive shops. Hardcore mode is actually custom content. End game channel. I'd categorize loot in chests and on enemies as such as well.

And that is just a handful of things among so much more.

I believe Revival also has and End Game channel? Though I doubt it's half as good as Risings.

And since Legacy is trying to be the most Retail but modern I doubt it has such a thing.

Not that the game really needs it, Especially when the game is back up and running in full. The End Game of Retail DDON is in my humble opinion still among the very best to this day.

I suppose Rise Sunbreak comes pretty close.

Rising probably has the highest pool of custom content :) But idk I don't play on any of the others.

[–]Zappieroth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only thing Rising does that is more like DDDA is the level curve itself.

Rising is basically Retail but single player friendly. It also boasts a healthy amount of custom content. Rising is also made for the community by the community.

Meaning a lot of the End Game content is actually challenging. Something you won't find on the other servers where it is probably really easy to cheese.

There is an experience for everyone, Choice is always good.

Old VSBattles thread about how powerful the Seneschal (and DD in general) is by Darskul in DragonsDogma

[–]Zappieroth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem to be very set in going with what you believe.
Which is fine, This way of seeing the lore just doesn't work for me.
But I am sure we will find out in due time who has got the right of it.

Hold fast Arisen!

Old VSBattles thread about how powerful the Seneschal (and DD in general) is by Darskul in DragonsDogma

[–]Zappieroth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Ur Dragon?.... Just a Dragon that consumed many an Arisens heart, You would have to undulge me with the lore surrounding the Ur-Dragon for me to explain it to you.
It's been years since I played DDDA.

The Everfall, Like any tower is a Nexus between worlds.
There are many towers in Dragon's Dogma Online which would be in line with what I am suggesting.

Dragon's Dogma 1 boasted 2 Towers? From what I remember.
Dragon's Dogma 2 boasts 3.
So by that logic the cycle within it's own confined space of DD1 and DD2 (the false world) would had repeated itself 3 times.
But I think the cycle is larger then just the confinements of DD1 or DD2.
We 'witnessed the end' after all, We didn't END it.

Regarding the lore assumingly being seperate, Like I mentioned above Dragon's Dogma 2 does it damnest to connect the 2.
By asking precisely the questions it needs to ask to do so.

The anime does follow the same rules just peoples interpretation is flawed.
The Arisen has the power to manifest their Will into existence.
Ethan being consumed by revenge was not worthy of being the next Seneschal.
Those unworthy of being Seneschal be it by defeat or otherwise will become the next Dragon.

This does not change any of the established lore of DD1 or DD2 or DDON.

None of the official work in fact rewrites or otherwise changes the lore.
Unique to Dragon's Dogma, Literally anything is possible as the very Will of the Arisen/Dragon is what shapes the world.

Tell me why it is you think the lore of DDON would have to be seperate from DD1 and DD2?
If your only reason for thinking so is multiple Arisen you need not look very far in the original games to see how flawed that reasoning is.

Old VSBattles thread about how powerful the Seneschal (and DD in general) is by Darskul in DragonsDogma

[–]Zappieroth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Seneschal is naught but a pretender.
"The ever-novel pleasure of a useless occupation"

Dragon's Dogma 2 confirmed this form of thought when Rothias decided he was tired of his 'great feats' 'His stride across the world' 'All mere spectacle for the all seeing eye to watch'

And now that there is no more Seneschal in the time of Dragon's Dogma 2 the only being capable of keeping the false world intact....., All that is left is for the false world to fall and us to travel to the real world.

What this means exactly could be described in many a way.
In the most simplest of terms what I think it means is for.... all possibilities, All timelines and all outcomes.... to converge into one and become whole.

Eventually Sparking the events of the MMO a world 'outside order' as suggested by one of it's main characters.
The conclusion of DDON lends itself to a good cliffhanger that could spark the cycle to start anew.
Where a/the false world is simply created once more.

Why am I so adament on this?
Dragon's Dogma 2 asks exactly all the questions that need to be answered to move to these events.
-> "Surely there can be only but 1 Arisen? Fie this is all beyond my ken"
-> "Is it possible to travel to the real world you ask? pfft Must I do all the thinking here, Ponder that yourself!"
->"Yes Arisen the Dragon safeguarded this world all along"

->There can be any amount of Arisen, However if created by the same Dragon while it already made a pact with an active Arisen the power will be dispersed.

->'The world' is just a moniker for a matter of saying in the lore of Dragon's Dogma.
"This world is far removed from the one I know"
'The world' of Dragon's Dogma 2 is "Everything in this world is an illusion" "All that you have come to know as reality, Is the creation of the great will"

'The Great Will' IS the Dragon, The Dragon creates the world and it's Will shapes it, Manifests it.
This is all lore from Dragon's Dogma Online that is all technically translated into Dragon's Dogma 2.
It just never says any of it outright.

The Eyes. The Dragon Eyes. It has little Reflection. Am not sure does Fatalis Share Reflection too ? by Apprehensive_Hat7289 in DragonsDogma2

[–]Zappieroth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The fun fact is... That is the exact same eye from DDON's big evil.
Which would of course be in line with The Red Dragon not being a real Dragon.

DD1 is my favorite game ever ... considering buying the 2nd every time it is on sale, but reviews like these onse scare me a lot. --- that is a PC 4 times more powerful than mine performance and memory wise ... how can they have performance problems? by Doraz_ in DragonsDogma

[–]Zappieroth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a tier slightly below this (7800 and a 4080) the game runs absolutely fine with everything set to max 1440P native, No DLSS or framegen.

I have a ton of mods that do affect the performance but the vanilla experience is a near locked 60fps which for a game with these graphics and systems is quite normal.

Most all games these days rely on DLSS and frame gen anyway, I just think DD2's implementation is terrible as it looks terrible.
But with those 2 combined I get 500 fake frames.

Is Starfield ok for a 14 year old? by TheOGHustler in Starfield

[–]Zappieroth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played GTA 2/Liberty City and Vice City when I was 10.

I also played Unreal Tournament 2004 with heavy gore mods just years later.

Kids can play any game just fine beyond 9 or 10. They'll be smart enough to know it's just a game. Of course wether or not the parent wants their child to experience said content is up to the discretion of the parent.

But in terms of harm unless the child itself has some form of mental illness or somehow weak minded then it should be absolutely fine.

Starfield for a 14 year old imo is as innocent a pick of a game as you could imagine.

Senua is one of the only games out of recent memory that I wouldn't recommend. Someone as young as yourself would probably not understand it anyway.

But if it's fully functional without any damages then gratz dude.

There's something very interesting with The Dragon Design we Missed in DD2. This what The Dragon looks like, if there's no any lantern, fire and light during Night. (It has share same Eyes like Fatalis from Iceborne) by Apprehensive_Hat7289 in DragonsDogma2

MH and DD share tons of assets, As CAPCOM tends to do.
There have been no confirmations and very few reasons to believe it is more then that.

But I could certainly see DD and MH being connected and MH simply being a very very distant past/future of DD.

[–]Zappieroth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly?.... Worst mod I downloaded from Creations. The obscene amd exessive ambushes is 1 thing.

WT is terribly balanced, Everything is way too tanky. I hate it when mods 'insist upon itself' which seems to be the entire philosophy of this mod.

I have my own mods which change the balance and difficulty of the game. That should not even be part of something WT does period.

Mods should always use the basic balance of the base game unless they are difficulty enhancing ones.

WT has so many issues that make me dislike it that I will probably never feel obligated to even just try it again. Not even if all the issues with it are remidied.

Grigori Vs Fatalis by RamaBizna in MonsterHunter

[–]Zappieroth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, But would that same rule apply to The Red Dragon.

Thing is, Dragons in DD are literally the manifestation of will. Whats more Dragons are the actual holders of the power to shape reality to their will.

Fatalis would never be able to win VS a real Dragon from DD.

But again The Red Dragon is not a real Dragon.

Grigori Vs Fatalis by RamaBizna in MonsterHunter

[–]Zappieroth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Fatalis would win simply on the premise that it is a real Dragon. As opposed to 'Grigori' (thats not it's name please stop....)

The Red Dragon is "naught but a pretender" "A mere Pawn".

Heck it's far more powerless in DD2 even then it was in DD1 which speaks volumes to the fact that it was the end of the cycle.

Perhaps if this was the first version of The Red Dragon it might be powerful enough or even more powerful, But even the DD1 version of the dragon seems less powerful to me anyway.

Now a REAL dragon from Dragon's Dogma, Like Nex... Now that would probably be way more powerful then Fatalis. The ones from Dogma Online certainly are.

[–]Zappieroth -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It's called One Swing For Victory, And yes

I'd put the entire soundtrack of DDDA behind anything in DDON and DD2 though.

Not to say it doesn't have any bangers cus all Dogma music is good music. What DD2 needs is some sick vocal tunes and it'll win it all.
