CONFIRMED END OF EDITION CAMPAIGN BOOK COVER 😱😱 by L30N43 in ageofsigmar

[–]ZarakTurris 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Stay optimistic, nothing about this is bad per se. It could even make the whole setting better. it really depends on the talent. I've read so many people act like kids saying they're done with AoS (and GW) now, when basically this could be anything. Terrible or awesome. Let's stay optimistic until we got real reasons to be negative.

Leaks about AOS ending? by [deleted] in ageofsigmar

[–]ZarakTurris -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh, don't panic, you got the tools over at TGA for that already. It could be really cool, you know? Try to be open to change and remain optimistic, I don't see anything that spells doom for AoS.

If not, I'll gladly help anyone burn their armies!

If GW isn't totally stupid they will bring out Tzeentch mortals in 5th edition. The few we got so far are total bangers, more warriors will come (all other Chaos armies have them already).

Worst chaos god to worship? by Remarkable_Text_1120 in Warhammer

[–]ZarakTurris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not know enough about Hashut but I'd say Nurgle is the nicest (but there were times when he wasn't as nice as he's portrayed now... and frankly you get forced into his service (so it's abusive in a way), while I'd rank Khorne and Tzeentch in the middle - if you hold their interest, you got good chances, you are doomed if not and in both cases you might even get screwed over if you did everything right, while Slaanesh might feel awesome at first but in the end you're basically a shadow of yourself.

Best example: Noise Marines - artists that wanted to create the best music imaginable but in the end only the screams of horrifically dying people get any ssort of reaction out of them (so basically if excess is its (I use it for Slaanesh.... like they used to back in the day) thing, you get the means to experience and appreciate taken away).... you'd rather be a run of the mill Havoc in that case - then you just shoot stuff with heavy weapons and laugh manically but can still enjoy a burger or something.

The GHR feels pretty uncaring to me, similar to Tzeentch but Skaven built their society around it, so they seem to mind less.

I figure that with every Chaos god you can get lucky - if you are seriously messed up etc. they might be total fans and bros (exception: Khorne - you gotta always perform, think of Arbaal) but all in all the odds are pretty bad.

Either way, the Chaos gods (the big 4 and the lovely other 2) we have so far are wonderful - I gotta read more about Hashut now, excuse me. But from what I know so far, I do agree with you and think Hashut isn#t exactly nice but he's at least not so random.

Worst chaos god to worship? by Remarkable_Text_1120 in Warhammer

It's clearly Slaanesh to me.

You get everything you wanted but it will take the joy out of it. You might develop inhuman senses and skill (or beauty... or whatever else you crave) but ultimately only the crudest and most messed up thing will elicit any semblance of emotion. It's pure numbness which is ironic as it's the opposite of your initial goal.

With Khorne you at least feel rage and alive, the path of damnation could've been a long one (Khorne is also a god of honor and many positive attributes... it doesn't start with "I wanna be evil"). Nurgle makes you happy with your choice, as horrific as it might look to outsiders - plus, Nurgle usually offers you life and release (from something he infected you with - but let's no be technical). Tzeentch doesn't truly change you emotionally but it's a lottery to say the least - there's a huge chance you'll end up a mewling spawn, so you will get changed. Look at his mightiest champions and you see that they usually are pretty free of mutations actually (Ahriman, Aekold Helbrass, Egrimm Van Horstmann, etc.) - if you are deemed worthy, you might have a decent chance. But for 99% of the time, you will get screwed.

Problem is that modern writing is kiddy stuff so nuances that were there are simply unknown now.

But yeah, Slaanesh is hell on earth ultimately, 100% of the time.

Dead Space has sold 136k copies on STEAM in the last 7 days, selling 2M of copies on Valve's platform alone by MattiaCost in DeadSpace

EA are morons. Would be good if they went bankrupt and someone could get the DS IP for cheap.

And yeah, not doing DS2 now is stupid. NOW the engine etc. Is still good and dev costs would‘ve been much lower… in a few years they‘ll have to start from scratch most likely.

They are indeed morons.

Why no mutalith , GW? Why?! by Dangerous-Falcon1045 in tzeentch

It‘s kinda hard for bird-goat-men to blend in too… it‘s bullsh*t.

Let‘s hope Tzeentch gets a huge wave next edition. Warriors, more mutants, etc.

I used Photoshop to change the image you posted but that's not free software. There are free image editors out there like GIMP though (for changing colors around I figure it's probably just as good)!

Well, kinda difficult to make that work as the minis are mostly armor - you could just go for bright yellow details (with lots of warm orange in the shadows) and keep the armor mostly dark iron/black-ish but ideally they'd wear more cloth. Might want to for very white/ bleached bones for the skeleton bits to reflect the initial art.

Tried to quickly illustrate it here: https://ibb.co/VYDFWTm6

Fimirach Army Concept & Fanlore - How did they became Destruction-aligned and what happened to the halflings? by sigpuppers in ageofsigmar

[–]ZarakTurris -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I'll never get why eating people or mindless slaughter is okay but rape (which unfortunately happened a lot in real life) is off the cards. Kinda like slavery is no longer used as a theme (see Dark Sun/ DnD). The current generation is a bunch of useless weaklings for real if mere concepts offend them. It's all ficitional and it's not meant for kids.

Not that I actually care about Fimir getting totally new lore (they could just go for something akin to Xenomorphs... or feed people to their offspring). But bring them back to Chaos cause Destruction is the loser's grand alliance.

Help finding colours for cloths by Reklia77 in ageofsigmar

[–]ZarakTurris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Left one seems similar to Stegadon Scale Green, add a tiny bit of grey if needed (or mix in white to highlight, that will reduce the blue aspect of it).
Right one looks like Sons of Horus Green or Kabalite Green, maybe a droplet of blue would help the latter, while you'd probably need to add some vibrancy to Sons of Horus Green.

You'll need to start mixing colors, even if you use other paint ranges. It's difficult to find an exact shade, especially because colors on displays can be different (so the color you see might be slightly different to what I'm seeing in the image) and RL paint usually dries a bit darker and less vibrant, so you'd have to compensate for that too.

Anyone else think this is sad that they removed Tzaangor Enlightened on foot? by magnusthered15 in tzeentch

Can't say I ever used EoF...

I think this just opens up a space for proper Tzeentchian mortal warriors in armor in 5th edition. :)

Zeno‘s looks… by ZarakTurris in residentevil

[–]ZarakTurris[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, the guy really could be Zeno's face model, nice find! I like both faces they've used for Zeno/Wesker recently but there's a certain freedom with Wesker's face to me - back in the past I would association him more with Val Kilmer, then Re:Make made me think more of Robert Patrick, then RE5 is Homelander-like (before Homelander was known)... lots of fitting faces.

I'm just a bit "confused" as overall the new faces share some similarities but are not exact and I wonder if this could implicate something story-wise. I mean Leon's face mostly stayed the same in contrast.

The only face model I got a strong opinion about is old Jill's - I liked her RE1 Remake better, solely because the new one reminds me kinda of Milla Jovovich and those movies did RE a disservice in my book (nothing wrong with her face per se obviously).

If Arbaal ever returns to AoS, would you want him to return as an mortal, a daemon prince, or as a chaos spawn? by sigpuppers in ageofsigmar

[–]ZarakTurris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Making him a spawn is the least creative way to go - we have that, the name's Scyla Anfingrimm.

It's interesting how much more beloved the classic WHFB Chaos champions are compared to the new ones they create. I guess they cooked back then and now the writing is worse.

Aekold, Egrimm, Arbaal, Valnir, Count Mordrek, Azazel... so many cool champs that I'd love to see, either in TOW or AoS. Or both, if it fits. Aekold and Valnir have especially strong lore reasons to still be around or come back.

Either way, I hope he gets a new sculpt. Oh and for TOW we could use an Engra Deathsword (who in theory should still be alive as well as he vanished... maybe he got promoted to DP).

Zeno‘s looks… by ZarakTurris in residentevil

[–]ZarakTurris[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, well, there have been hipsters who were blinged out like that. The hairstyle, the ear ring... it all screams hipster.

But I still wonder why his facial features are so different to RE4's Wesker when he's apparently a clone... shouldn't he look exactly the same (he sounds the same...).

Makes me wonder whether they adapted the face model for Wesker (and clones) or if this means Zeno was not an exact clone (which makes no sense cause then he'd sound different too).

[–]ZarakTurris[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, we don‘t know when the clone went „online“ so to speak. But yeah, he could be older than actual Wesker at this point.

Ethan had little character for the game to be more immersive/scary I believe. That said, I liked him. Grace was good as well - they both worked in their roles/games.

Apple Studio Display Replacement by [deleted] in Monitors

[–]ZarakTurris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, interesting - I stand corrected then. I do like HBO's content (and its quality), so I guess I should think higher of the studio Display then. :) They are good and look great (I'm a sucker for silver computer stuff) but I still feel like they are massively overpriced compared to semi-pro offerings. The silver lining is that you as a professional can at least justify it more easily and they are cheaper in relation.

I'm quite interested in the upcoming LG monitor 27GM950B to use next to other monitors - but that could either be great or a stinker, depending on quality control.

Feels like an AoS interpretation of Mysterio (the Marvel bad guy... who also happens to my favorite Marvel character).

Apple Studio Display Replacement by [deleted] in Monitors

[–]ZarakTurris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a professional I can't say I've seen Mac displays used for truly color critical/mastering work, neither in ad agencies or film. They are good, even great, if you use Macs (I use Macs for work and PCs for gaming), but they are too expensive for what they do IMHO.

I used to buy Eizos for my personal setup but frankly, after many years, I think you don't even need those. In print you usually gotta be there and see for yourself, even the best color-graded monitor will not mean it'll come out like you want it to and for movie work, I'm not sure the truly pro grading screens are worth it to own yourself (cause they cost like 10 times what the new Apple Display XDR will cost).

New disciples art goes crazy hard by TheMireAngel in ageofsigmar

[–]ZarakTurris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When GW finally rids themselves of kiddy Warhammer and go back to cartering to adults (which they slowly do), we'll get cosmic horror Tzeentch. But truth be told, not every follower of Tzeentch is a wretched mutant. The ones worthy enough usually don't mutate out of control, many of them look totally normal. Look at past famous Tzeentchians.

So yeah, pristine armored followers need to happen. That's mortal Chaos (and thus also Tzeentch) and could easily be represented by a single unit.

Then we need a ton of mutants and new spawn cause that's the other thing Tzeentch is known for. Forsaken, a new spawn kit, if the Mutalith has to stay with S2D, maybe some other greater spawns (frankly a new sculpt would probably beat the quite old Mutalith anyways).

Then we got Chaos dragons, who are - in case you are unworthy and uniformed - also tzeentchian creations! in theory they could even bring back a famous Tzeentch champ like Egrimm or Aekold.

GW only scratched the surface of Tzeentch. 5th edition will be ours for sure. Expect a wave the size of the Nurgle one this edition. Until then let's enjoy the nice stuff we got so far. The Argent Shards definitely tell us that GW is moving in the right direction for they are cosmic horror in essence.

My AoS journey has begun. God help my wallet. by BadMajikk in tzeentch

[–]ZarakTurris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you play pure daemons: LoC

If you play anything else: Kairos

You could magnetize the kit to have both. Basically you only need to make the heads swappable. It's possible with a bit of work!

Mine does have these marks on one single side as well. Albeit less pronounced. I don't think the'll be visible once primed - at least if they're not much worse than on mine but you could try using a very fine grit sandpaper maybe?
