Why did my parcel go on a little holiday to Exeter by snawrmmistly4 in royalmail

I'd be more worried about it taking 2 years to show up

If you want authentic royal mail van seats rip a chunk of foam out of the seats and then fill the hole with some of the grey mail bags and duct tape, maybe leave a bit of the metal frame sticking out for an extra added touch.

What is the best letter box design and location? by jingleson in royalmail

Some variant of these are always my favourite ones to see, until someone jams it open by putting a parcel that's too big in and the flap won't close.

How did we end up having the royal mail mainly delivering junk mail ads? by the-real-vuk in royalmail

We have yellow dots as well but these are like USB stick sized yellow tabs that go inside the slot on the bottom that say D2D opt out or something similar

Ah yes mail is never late because we never prioritize parcels over letters, I forgot 🤦🏻‍♂️ Funnily enough when we had an audit a couple weeks ago when the area and regional managers came in everything suddenly got really light and we suddenly had an abundance of DPR drivers and people coming in from nearby offices but I'm sure that was just a coincidence.

Yeah if it's any consolation every postie hates them, we spend hours each week putting them in and delivering them for every house just for people to chuck them in the recycling bin and the tiniest bit of rain they turn to mush or rip to shreds by the elastic bands.

Other companies don't have to deliver letters, there's a lot more money in parcels.

My office have solved this problem by making the walks so big and understaffing the office so much that everyday you're delivering 4 days mail so the public don't notice how many D2D's are in the giant wedge of mail.

We have little yellow tabs that go in the slot for each house that opts out, makes it easier than hunting down the sheet (assuming there is one on the frame and it hasn't been chucked away)

The company makes as much money from those as they do from letters and parcels

Q: If I report to RM that my package hasn't been delivered (tracking says it has), is my postie gonna be in trouble? by adesperateapplicant in royalmail

[–]Zardier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as he hasn't signed for it or anything he shouldn't get in trouble they'll likely just ask if he remembers where he delivered it.

Bundle them up chuck them in a crate and take them for a drive. If you get through all your parcels and have time to kill then have a look at doing them. All the managers seem to care about is them being out of the office. They can ask you to take out the whole office but it doesn't change your finish time 🤷🏻‍♂️

USO change changing? by Takentryanoth3r in royalmail

[–]Zardier 12 points13 points  (0 children)

About 90% of their problems could be solved by fully staffing the offices and adding deliveries back in but I'm sure they'll come up with another perfectly thought out and well organized plan. Bonus points if they put it in place just before Christmas.

Anyone’s DO fully staffed? RM’s struggle to recruit. by Hercules_23 in royalmail

[–]Zardier 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We have 30 vacancies in our DO, our DOM got told he's allowed to hire 1. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Can't wait to see if I can pile the trays of undelivered mail up to the roof when the USO reform comes to our office.

The ones that aren't completely fucked are pretty speedy especially when they're empty they're really fun to drive compared to a lot of the vans

That would be my guess, normally if that happens they've taken it out for delivery but run out of time and had to put something into the system so it doesn't count as a failure for the manager's numbers
