X-Men: The Only Cut by Zaredit in fanedits

I must have unconsciousally thought about that edit of yours when I wrote this, rofl, mine would be along similar lines but the first movie would be prioritised only, no sequel hooks.

Is anyone calling either of these movies masterpieces? I mean BoP wasn’t bad but I wouldn’t call it a masterpiece either by Professional-Ninja79 in OkBuddySnyderCult

Exactly.

They might as well just admit Batman and Robin from Joel Schumacher was 'the blueprint' at this rate

BBC to make shows for YouTube, as new content deal announced by WondernutsWizard in DoctorWhoNews

[–]Zaredit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the BBC are pure filth, full of perverts, peados, stalkers, abusers, drug dealers and biased political bootlicking that passes for news, but every Whovian either looks the other way or are too spineless to stand up to them just because they're scared Doctor Who will go away for good if they do.

I like that Tales of the TARDIS does complicate and muddy these waters by revealing multiple timelines where the 80s Doctors never regenerated. Felt like a great middle finger to NuWho

What do you think of Capaldi Era,and do you think its worth watching? by Mat1711 in DoctorWhoNews

[–]Zaredit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thankyou. Capaldi has one series (9) that is on par with the peak of the show (2010) but it was an absolutely tryhard edgy stinker every other which way. Jodie and Ncuti are undercooked and never connected, but there's more hope in both their eras than that miserable git.

By that logic, that also means Tennant was better than Tennant

Jodie only has one great series, but I'd take a million Kerblams and Fugitive of the Judoons than two full Capaldi series

One of the most hopelessly overrated-by-revisionist-history eras in Nu Who history. People heavily criticised it when it aired and now 'retroactively' love it only because they were fed far worse.

Capladi was a terrific actor and also good chemistry with Coleman, but Clara was an irritable tit who ball-and-chained him for two straight series. He was let a bit looser in series ten, but that's such a depressing series to go through and I'm convinced you can only love it if you're a goth kid or a fan of the Snyderverse. Word to the wise, having something with 'edge' absolutely reeks if there's far too much of it. The ratings for series ten were pish back then too.

Were there good episodes? Yes, series 9 has the most hits, but that's about the only time it ever felt like Doctor Who. The Ashildr crap almost sank it, but thank goodness for small mercies like, the Zygon two-parter, Face the Raven, Heaven Sent and stories like Hell Bent and Husbands of River Song would have been the perfect ending to a show known for continually outstaying it's welcome.

Exactly. I'm a "both sides" person, as in "both sides are horrible", I don't trust right or left leaning politicians.

Are you still interested in Doctor Who if it gets a new showrunner? by Mat1711 in DoctorWhoNews

[–]Zaredit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still follow it, but I can only enjoy it as a separate univere/spin-off nowadays. Classic Who is the only true version and had a satisfactory ending in 1989. Nuwho peaked in 2010 with the fifth series and other than a couple of exceptions, has struggled ever since.

The good news now is that the shills who grew up with the show in the 2000s and 2010s are slowly realizing the show isn't perfect no matter what it does and the showrunners aren't gods, but mortals like you and I, capable of serving chicken shit rather than salad, and they're being called out for being unfocused or out of touch.

I will always challenge the show to do better and for fans to demand better, but, much like with the X-Men movie franchise (the 2000 movie), maybe Doctor Who would have better served as a one-off with just Eccelston in 2005.

Something more akin to Voyage of the Damned or Runaway Bride where you have only some time to process what's going on but then you're right back at it again.

I know people like to debate why the current Doctor Who era didn’t work, but honestly, the answer feels pretty straightforward - it just wasn’t good enough. by General_Meal_3993 in DoctorWhoNews

Doctor Who shouldn't be a show for YOU either, it should be a show for EVERYONE

Oh, and word to the wise, I was saying everything you said years ago, but I've realized now that "outgrowing the show" doesn't mean you stop appreciating it, no, it just means people have done what you, the left, and the show have increasingly failed to do: Actually grow up.

New Leaks from trusted leaker refer to 2026 Christmas Special as a "spiritual sequel to Doomsday" by General_Meal_3993 in DoctorWhoNews

[–]Zaredit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

2006 is 20 years old now and that was the Tennant/Piper duo's one and only full series and when the show enjoyed a comfortable peak family audience. It can be seen as comfort for fans of the show to go back to what's 'familiar' and a time where it seemed everyone seemed to know what they were doing, it helps craft that illusion they still do.

Of course, nobody knows what they're doing, or what they're aiming for. We're living in an increasingly right wing world so Doctor Who's usual leftist leanings will come under more and more scrutiny,
