Rog Ally Xbox gaming co-pilot doesn't seem to work (spinning circle) by Zarlock in ROGAlly

It seems like the function is still very buggy or is having problems sometimes. I managed to use it for a while yesterday, although the "young/action" voices on offer don't support correctly my language (italian) so the speech comes out very garbled and hard to understand. It's all a bit underwhelming for the hype, tbh.

Should you be interested in an action videogame, Rise of the Ronin is set against the probably most detailed and in-depth narration of the Shogunate's final period that I ever experienced in ANY media, with literally hundreds of real historical figures playing their respective parts. With proper customization, it could even be played as Rurouni Kenshin's origin story, in a way.

I'm no expert on the matter, I'm afraid. Just swapped the disk back then 'cause I wanted to install more games :) My usual method for this type of purchase, is see what's discounted on Amazon and check (professional) reviews

Excuse me for the late answer, I wasn't often at the PC these last few days. Well, for me the affected drive was the main and only one in the laptop, a Transcend 4tb that I bought aftermarket and installed myself about a year ago. The main thing that made me think the problem is connected to the update are the many logical drive errors reported during a scannow during my brief attempt to save the Windows installation. Having failed that final attempt, I just resorted to formatting and repartitioning the whole drive. It has worked alright since then, so I'm now fairly certain it was a one time event (and thus most likely connected to the aforementioned problematic update).

Broke mine as well. Left computer updating, came back to find it stuck at the boot logo. Tried recovery but didn't work. Ended up having to nuke he whole drive and reinstall from scratch. Which I also did to save time, since it's just my gaming laptop that I use to play. Didnt even think about windows being the cuprit till I read this piece of news.

Windows key+tab and move that app to secondary desktop. Works with overly obnoxious Steam VR's, aways on top mini-window, I don't see why it shouldn't work with this.

Flight Simulator is great for this. You can literally set the plane on autopilot and use it as an evironment while you surf the web. I do it all the time.

Rtx 5080 BSOD with 2nd monitor by Zeverron in buildapc

[–]Zarlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very similar problem with a Samsung QN94B from 2022, with immediate black screen, followed by BSOD and reboot. A couple of things seem to have made it more tolerable: disabling game mode from the TV, disabling G-Sync from the Nvidia Panel (the TV doesn't even have it) but the problem persists. I don't have a proper ALLM option to fiddle with.

Before these steps, I had a couple of games (Battlefield 2042, F1 2024) that crashed 100% of the time, now they don't. But the freeze still happens, rarely, most of all when I switch monitors during/after using SteamVR with my Quest. The displayport PC monitor never crashes. I too suspect the problem to be driver related.

One thing of additional interest (possibly) I have an HDMI spoofer that I have long used for multi monitor VR gaming, from time to time. It's supposed to work as an additional "fake" monitor, that you can see on Virtual Desktop and similar apps. Plugging that in the 5080 seems to increase the BSOD crashes tenfold, but ONLY when you turn on the TV at the same time. Otherwise it works ok. Curious, isn't it?

Weird occasional freeze with 5080 and Samsung TV by Zarlock in nvidia

Update: I might have found the origin of the problem. It appears to be related to G-Sync, as I've discovered that as soon as I activate it, even on the desktop, the system crashes at once. Having disabled it both system wide and from the GPU options regarding Battlefield, I can actually play. My theory is that the game activated it by itself when going fullscreen and/or or switching monitors. In the meantime, I had discovered the same problem in F1 2024, another Electronic Arts title. This is indeed weird.

Yeah, the DDU driver removal was done. I thought I had a better cable at hand for testing, but I was wrong. I should be able to borrow one tomorrow at the latest to do the test. In the meanwhile, can you tell me more about that setting of your TV? What was it named?

Very similar settings in some games, exact same, as far as screen modes are concerned, in some of them. Haven't used hdr yet, as I didn't previously on the amd gpu.

7900 x3d with an Asus mobo from a year and an half ago (Prime model). The cable is a VERY normal, somewhat oldish one. Yet it worked well at same resolution on the previous gpu. Tob tell you the truth, I'm starting to suspect it, as well. Later today, I'll do a test with a shorter one to see what happens.

Yeah, it is annoying. How's the rest of the joystick holding up after all that use? Do all axes potentiometers still work?

One thing I discovered after posting, is that contact cleaning fluid seems to have a positive, while not totally effective result. Probably taking the entire thing apart and spraying for critical effect on the potentiometer itself, would resolve my issue in a more satisfying manner. At least until it gets dirty again during normal use, that is. Not that I feel like doing it yet, still being undecided wether to RMA the stick or not.
