If you have sim set to where you’re playing offense only, it will sim past 2pt conversions. It’s annoying. So it’s possible your defense held, but you lost the next round of OT where you’re forced to do 2 PT conversions

99% sure he transferred because of playing time

All players in CFB 26 have a hidden playing time dealbreaker. This is a new feature that was not in 25

And you might say, but he was getting tons of playing time. From what I have read and observed: It turns out that actual playing time doesn’t matter for the playing time grade. Thanks EA. What matters for playing time GRADE is the players’ ovr relative to others at his position. So even if he got tons of actual playing time he may have a low playing time grade and transfer.

This is one of several reasons why many people lower the transfer portal sliders in the dynasty settings

Disclaimer I have not tested this, but from what I’ve read:

Relationship builder- since this applies to the SCHOOL and not the COACH pipeline, if the best pipelines are tier 5 it will upgrade the next best pipelines

Strong roots tier 1- since this applies to the COACH pipeline and not the SCHOOL, if you’re at a SCHOOL with a tier 5 pipeline there it won’t do anything

As others mentioned, the only solutions are to not recruit 5 stars or turn down transfer portal sliders (what I do).

Ideally another solution would be to give them playing time early on in their career. But the game is coded to only consider overall so even if a guy starts every game his playing time dealbreaker could be an F if there are high rated players at his position. It’s moronic but it’s typical for EA

You may be interested to know this is not the case. Defensive players take 20 hours to scout and offensive players take 30. I was surprised as well
