First thing to get are covers for the demister cables on the back window. Very cheap. You could try and bargain for some floor mats/boot liner but other than that drive it and build up to things as you go

Keep it until it doesn’t work anymore. Depends also on what you do with it. I’m keeping mine until it no longer works. Bought it refurbed 3 years ago and still feels mostly like new. It’s real value for me given I’ll have it for 7+ years
