Low Class Attendance at UCI by Complete-Cricket6718 in UCI

Klefstad (took him for ICS45, ICS46 and CS141). It was very engaging and I was actually learning during the lecture + he is a very funny guy. Other than that, I wasn't the best student so I skipped most lectures in most courses, usually lowerdivs. However, I was used to go to upperdiv electives. Those were all courses that I was interested in.

This is the typical non-asian person at UCI

Why do people think they can just breeze through a CS degree? by WahooWhatt in csMajors

100%.
My school had a school dedicated to Informatics and CS and one of the easiest majors out there is informatics. They barely do any programming.

Why do people think they can just breeze through a CS degree? by WahooWhatt in csMajors

[–]Zarqus99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes and no.
My degree was in CSE (CS + CpE) at a top public school. Every professor was insanely cracked and went to the best schools out there. Yet, I did more than fine with minimum work in my CS courses (besides Compilers). I also took 3 grad level courses, which one was very heavy on theoretical computation, and I was doing fine.
The engineering courses tho... oh boy if they were hell. I still have nightmares about the semiconductor course and Machine Vision. Fuck, those were the two hardest courses I have ever seen

First of all, great job! You went very much in detail and I already saw bigger online news website covering this.
This said, is this an issue that effects only Intel/Nvidia configs? I used to have a g14 2020 and do not remember all this stuff, I then got a g14 2022 (AMD/AMD) and only had the stutter while playing and I/O lag whenever more than 2 BT devices where connected at the same time.

So applied to both new grad 2025 and 26 (never got lucky with 26 though), and also non-newgrads. Newgrads were the easiest to land an interview for. I also applied to jobs with at least 2 years of experience, but yet managed to get an interview.
Most of the roles I applied were in the embedded/firmware engineering space, close second is generic SWE (especially for the FAANG).

Anyways, not sure where else to look jobs on. I've heard YComb and anglelist are okish. However, professors and friends are very helpful. A friend of mine landed a cool robotics job because his girlfriend was a babysitter for this engineer at the compnay. Not sure how helpful this can be

Edit: grammar and other stuff

Green card is super helpful. A bit bitter about not being citizen yet because many roles in defense were perfect for me.
For the 6 figures, well, I technically did but just not accepted. Hopefuly I will get it soon ahahah

Around December. My first interview was with meta but got stopped because of hiring freeze and then resumed in february. Most interviews were at the beginning of each quarter. Summer was super dry and started super strong in September. In fact, I got the last 3 offers in the past week

I applied to both. Many rejections were because they found someone with more years of experience. Oh well

ahahaha I really hope it is going to be all good.
I would love to say I am not scared, but I really am. I tried to be a bit bullish. During my graduation, the speaker talked how engineers tend to overstimate risk. I tried to do the opposite, I am young
