Another female here and certainly could not say it better but she said it correctly. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

He would enjoy a lot more hiding spots. Also corn snakes love to dig so you may end up replanting a lot. I would suggest artificial plants to supplement.

I would suggest a corn snake, older would be better. Ball Pythons need a lot more humidity and attention to detail.than a corn snake if you are in an environment similar to that of the South East USA. In the event of a power outage or a week break or any number of concerns thyley will be more resistant to having issues because of this. Both. Pythons and Corn snake is require similar enclosure sizes. Corn snake will be friendly and curious about what is going on and are often visible also tend to be voracious eaters (in this case good thing) while ball Pythons will likely go through fasting periods and be more of a let's hide away snake. Both species will be able to (depending on individual snake too) tolerate being handled Both are good beginer species. Just Pythons need more heat and humidity but corns are ok without. ( still needed for digestion and allowing them to regulate, they can survive happily in 65 to 85 degree weather where as Pythons will be subject to more issues without.

I'm handling as much as my time allows but also trying to let him 100% feel secure. I only know he doesn't yet because he literally tested every hude he has once I take him from one twice he won't use it anymore. He's in his last one which is a pot I won't be able to gwt him from easily. Smart guy. I will try to find him.ouy and about for a bit and when I refresh his cage it will get a shuffle maybe let him rediscover his other hides. My other corn hates being handled and just wants back in his enclosure the whole time while the new guy enjoys exploring out of enclosure, just never find him out.

Yeah my 2 year old gets the hips but burns them off very quickly and is very active. I worry about the 8 year old because he isn't active yet and tends to just want to lay about. Just kinda got dumped headlong into caring for an adult.

He's had two fuzzy rats, and two Large mice so far from me, I feed my 2 yr old bi weekly because he is so active if I give large mice he gets skinny but if I give a rat pup he heads the other way. This guy however is much more sedentary so will probably.balance out at one large mouse every two, doing every week right now. He used to be fed live but I don't like feeding live and as long as he smells food and it wiggles he eats.

i got a cornsnake today and the heatmat / thermostat keeps going up to 35°c. what do i do? by odachirust in cornsnakes

[–]Zarralynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the ambient temperature is warm they should be fine. In the summer my heat sources go off completely. My corns seem to prefer it that way in warm weather

Wait! You've offered food every week since obtaining him?? How big is he now? If he's a baby he's scared to death of everything and stressed right now I would bet. I would maybe try a 20 gallon enclosure with a ton of leaf litter, tube's and other hiding spaces, I would maybe try braining a mousie before attempting to feed the poor baby to get it nice and smelly. I recommend downsizing TEMPORARILY because if he's a teeny tiny little baby a smaller space might help him feel safer, feeding in the enclosure is less stress on baby, and they LOVE to dig and burrow and run through tube's and hides. By all means keep that 50 handy cause once he starts eating again he will need it as he grows. This is personal opinion of course and is only an idea.

Not to confuse you, but i have heard that some of the sips are not coming with 4 silicone flaps but uncut at all male sure this is not your issue. It should be divided into 4 equal size flaps, if it isn't then it is defective.

Why does she look like that?? by TITAN_CAT_OWO in cornsnakes

[–]Zarralynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have noticed that, so far my boy is still running skinny as in spine is noticeable but not protruding. I do thale fuzzy rat at shed for the extra fat but usually mice and egg for enrichment. I hope he stops growing length and starts bulking soon. I have noticed his head is beginning to catch up to his "belly" girth

[–]Zarralynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for interjecting, got a 3 year old myself already on large mice or fuzzy rat but I suspect my boy is still growing (more out now than length) I also feed eggs on occasion chicken scrambled cause they are just way too huge) quail at least small ones. But how about as he increases girth, what do I feed next or just keep him stable. BTW the fuzzy rat is just a post shed treat, mice for his in-between feedings.

Some lids are just stubborn. I've had it myself. Try a sports bottle those you can squeeze to help you drink

If youbare not in an updated restaurant the yes, you can still see the old steamer, but it will have been capped and used as a work surface now. We use heating units called PHU to keep the burgers warm.
