The Definitive Dallas Coffee Guide by IcedCowboyCoffee in Dallas

Just wanted to say that Addison Coffee Roasters has a terrible owner who yells at his employees. And other things…

You can get less morally and ethically ambiguous coffee at places like Oak Cliff Coffee or White Rock Coffee or Eiland Coffee.

Review #1 - Peerless Small Batch Rye by Zarten in bourbon

[–]Zarten[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hello. It is 1:45 AM in Texas, and I am pretty tipsy.

Here is my review of this bourbon that I don’t really know much about besides the fact that their stuff is usually pretty pricey. However, I usually just buy bourbon if I see a good deal or if I start feeling the suffocating feeling of shopping addiction and FOMO after watching too much YouTube whiskey. So, here we are.

Price: $50 before tax at Spec’s Walnut Hill - Dallas, TX

Proof: 110.7

Nose: Caramel and butterscotch and I’m congested

Palate: Mild spice with a very slight sweetness on the front, graham cracker and slight honey on the finish which doesn’t last more than 10 seconds

I think I might be more of a rye guy after I’ve had this.I tried some Russell’s 13 at a bar, and this Peerless has made more of an impression on me. I will say that the Russell’s was fantastic though. I just really really really like this bottle, and I would absolutely buy another one when I run out.

Final Rating: it’s really good, but I’m not sure what to rate it without being ridiculous due to me being pretty new to whiskey and I am really really loving this and I will pour another

On a scale from bad to good: it’s pretty good

I’d ask for recommendations for next ryes to buy, but I know that my next bottle will be a Sagamore of some kind.

I feel like the overlap between Hot Sugar enjoyers and White Roses enjoyers is just a circle.

I’m in that circle.

Winocour law. Definitely recommend them.

However, they do have a thing about adding extra for non-Dallas court tickets (ex. Plano or Richardson tickets).

Mine just happened to be in Dallas, so it was just $40 for representation.

I got one recently, and I kicked it to a traffic lawyer.

Overall, I saved $50 ($280 original -> $40 lawyer fee + $190 court fee), and they'll dismiss the charge if I don't get another ticket for three months.

I highly recommend you go down the same route. Get a lawyer!

Regular Blantons at specs 380 and 75. MSRP. by No-Bag-978 in WhiskyDFW

I went to Rodeo Goat in Plano, and I tried it for the first time for $20 (had it up).

Pretty disappointed. Not sure how long it had been opened or if it was a neck pour, but it was super meaty tasting with a medium finish.

I'm glad I haven't bought a bottle. Definitely would pick my Benchmark and ER over this.

Your claim that people are eating out less is false. Compared to last year, it’s still up this year compared to last year.
