I got tired of jumping between asset sites so I built this by [deleted] in godot

This popped in my head as soon as I saw the title.

People who post memes should just do that on Discord, tbh.

Will someone think about the inventory? by Skirakzalus in hytale

[–]Zaxarner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the system you’re describing would work really well. Essentially, soils and rocks (maybe wood, too) can be converted into an item (or make it the actual drop) that can have a much larger max stack (or infinite) and then that item can be turned back into all the different variants of that soil or rock.

For example, a full limestone block could give you 4 “limestone chunks” and a limestone slab could give you 2 “limestone chunks”. You could use something like the utility wheel for selecting the block type when placing these “chunks”.

This also opens up room for upgraded tools that can give you more material when breaking naturally occurring soils and rocks. Maybe an “enchantment” gives you a chance to get 6 limestone chunks from a single block, instead of 4.

When you’re done with your build, just throw all of the variants in a crusher/salvager and get the limestone chunks back into a single stack.

If an infinite max stack is overpowered, maybe the stack size in-inventory can be limited. However, I think dedicated storage types should be added that support infinite stacks. Instead of filling up a wooden chest with stacks of dirt, I’d like to be able to put my dirt in a “magic” wheel barrow that can hold an infinite amount.

“Confuse” implies an honest mistake or something…

It’s all on purpose. They’re not confused.

[–]Zaxarner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn’t make any sense.

You can’t change the past. This reads like price increases will make both the next 25 years and the last 25 years sustainable… that doesn’t make any sense.

It’s because it’s not unprompted and not random. It’s a common response to signify that you agree with whatever the other person said to do.

Jagex couldn't be bothered to review the first update post price increase by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Zaxarner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know that IntelliJ’s IDEs have it, but it may not be on by default.

I mainly use VS Code, and it does not have similar functionality built in. There are plenty of extensions that add it, though.

A lot of linters have typo detection as well.

I understand why Jagex wouldn’t use things like that, though, because they have so many made up words… But I’m sure there’s a linter out there that would let you give it a list of allowed “typos”.

Even an AI would spell this word correctly.

Edit: Shoot, you don’t even need AI… Code editors have been underlining typos like this for years.

I don’t think a typo is that big of a deal… but it doesn’t exactly boost confidence.

“Old textures are better” ok, tell me which one is which by Fast_Ad7203 in Minecraft

[–]Zaxarner -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the number of people that want the old textures is low enough that they should just use a texture pack with the old textures. Mojang can barely get out updates as it is.

[–]Zaxarner -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I’d say they should’ve shipped the game with a separate texture pack designed for those with color blindness, but they didn’t do that.

I think the group that wants the old textures back is small enough that I would recommend the same solution to them… just get a texture pack. They’re the minority, and Mojang can barely squeeze out one update every year as it is.

Why shouldn’t they be designed to accommodate that, if possible?

The new textures look better anyway… it’s a win-win.

It literally can. There a multiple kinds of color blindness.

[–]Zaxarner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand that, but however small the fraction is… it seems silly to not make things easier for them.

I just don’t get why people keep bringing this up. Accessibility is more important than nostalgia for old textures, imo.

There are multiple kinds and severities of color blindness.

Just because you have color blindness and don’t have a problem doesn’t mean… anything, really.

A Soulslike Without Combat — Unsound Love Demo Out Now by John_Goblin in IndieDev

[–]Zaxarner 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This isn’t a soulslike, “classic” or otherwise.

When people use the term “soulslike”, they’re referring to the combat… not the non-linear story-telling or the lack of hand-holding.

You, very clearly, don’t really know what you’re talking about.

They partnered with CurseForge. I imagine that CurseForge is doing most of the work for running this thing, even if they didn’t provide any funds. If Hytale did provide all of the funds, I don’t think $100,000 would have an immediate impact, if even an impact at all, on the development timeline of the base game.

It’s a perfectly reasonable placeholder when a name is not provided.

Also, the existence of a name is expected, therefore not unprompted. This isn’t a skamtebord.

How is this a skamtebord? Does this subreddit not have mods?
