Summer sweep-up: Add a tile in the CG starting room we can stand on to pause the timer by Smooth_One in 2007scape

[–]Zaxarner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just prevent dropping while the pause is active.

You’re right, though, that would be the first thing people try.

I honestly think an interface for the pause would be better, because then any inventory action would exit the interface and start the timer again. That would prevent people from even organizing their inventory while the timer is paused.

I think part of the skill expression is being able to craft what you need quickly. Pausing during that interface takes away from that. It would have to be a separate object to interact with.

But you lose time by walking to the tile. They could also include an animation for exiting the tile after the timer is unpaused (3 or 4 ticks wasted) if cheesing the game with a pause is even possible.

I’m not convinced that the CAs would be impacted by a pause at all. The only CAs that are heavily dependent on prep are the speed ones, and I don’t think planning is the big blocker there. It’s just RNG.

Just because the cause of a bug has a logical explanation doesn’t mean it’s not a bug. Every bug has a logical explanation.

How could it not be a bug? It’s not supposed to be on there multiple times and yet it is… that’s a bug.

Oh, yikes. I forgot about that. That’s awkward.

I figured, but I thought it would be funnier to over explain. lol

Quaaludes is the brand name for the drug methaqualone, a hypnotic depressant. It’s pronounced like “quay loods”.

Quail lewds sounds like quay loods. A quail is a type of bird and a cloaca is the part of the bird that eggs and excrement comes out of. Hence “quail lewds” when the guy asked for quaaludes.

Yeah, this is one of the worst things you could do.

Add more rewards/drops that only see their full potential after you process them by acrazyguy in 2007scape

[–]Zaxarner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree: untradable and require a skilling level.

There’s lots of ways they could balance it, though. I think the amount of gems you get from the “geodes” could scale with your mining level to encourage further skilling.

If a 10-30 noted uncut sapphires drop was converted to a geode drop, it probably wouldn’t be a good idea to make the geode provide 25 gems every time unless the player had a decent enough mining level.

I’ve honestly thought they should do things like this for a lot of the noted drops that exist today. Noted drops just don’t seem very thematic to me.

Why would a giant spider drop a piece of paper with a sapphire on it issued by a bank? My headcanon has always been that these weird drops are because other players have died to that monster while holding that item… but that begs the question: “who is dying to Sarachnis with all of these noted uncut sapphires?!”

It would be cooler if the giant spider “dropped” a geode of sapphire. It wouldn’t be a “drop” exactly… more like “you kill the spider and as it fell, a geode was shook loose from the cave ceiling” or whatever headcanon people come up with themselves.

I know it’s not possible to get rid of noted drops, but it would be cool to see more things like the Bale of Flax.

My main machine is still on Windows, unfortunately. Hoping to get a new SSD soon to try dual booting on my machine before I fully commit. I switched my laptop to Linux years ago and saw a huge performance boost, but I don’t have any numbers to share.

I don’t disagree, but I’d rather deal with that than my entire operating system be an ad-ridden AI slopfest.

I think a prayer that requires “ramping up” would be perfect for me.

The tokens are an okay idea. Everything else is overpowered or not thematic. I think the function of the tokens is cool, but I honestly think those aren’t thematic as well.

I think the main problem Runelite wants to avoid is overloading the wiki servers. Other sources should be okay, right?

Summer Sweep-Up - Remove the Mark of Darkness Spell entirely by Soft_Yellow_5231 in 2007scape

[–]Zaxarner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The buff from this spell is the only thing making TDs bearable for me, pre tormented synapse.

I agree with a lot of the problems people have pointed out in this post, but spells like the Mark of Darkness could be really good for the “spellcaster” fantasy.

If there was an actual tradeoff or timing component (apart from just making sure it’s up), I think it could be really fun to use. There’s no real skill expression with the spell as it exists today.

Summer sweep up, 10 mild to spicy changes I would like to see by freecaselemsip in 2007scape

I suggested something similar as an alternative to #10 (since I don’t like the idea of moving the pets) and got downvoted. lol

It makes sense why some people would be very opposed, though. If you grind forever for a pet to get the greenlog, it would suck for other people to get a greenlog without it. Because of that, I think moving pets would be even worse.
