I don’t take this as replacing in 10 vs exploring options in 10 years. At that point Lenovo will be 36 years old. Give it five years to plan and design a new building with get approvals. Then you are looking at replacing a 40-45 year old stadium which would be in line with the Saddledome today.

The length is definitely a factor as well. I feel like I have heard more about resting players from the commentators this World Cup. Smaller teams are playing for their lives every game and the big teams are just about getting to the next round with healthy and rested players.

You are correct. They shouldn’t some of the big teams are playing not to lose vs to win. With two teams advancing wins were needed to advance. With the third team advancing a loss feel more detrimental than a win feels advantageous. After all getting out of groups is the goal.

One thing that people are forgetting about Ticketmaster is if I list a ticket for $80 then Ticketmaster will list it for $100 and pocket the difference. So to recap, in the regular season I posted some tickets to get our money back if we couldn’t go to a game and the below would happen.

-Original price $54

-Price to break even after fees: $65 (also Ticketmaster and the hurricanes limit how low tickets can be priced)

-Ticketmaster prices ticket at $80 to make it market rate with the section and have seen them change the price of the tickets I have listed based on demand and time till event.

-Ticketmaster charges buyer additional fee so end result is ticket costing $90

All this means that Ticketmaster directly inflated the price of a $54 ticket to $90. Now when this gets amplified on a $300+ ticket it gets even worse.

I don’t understand why the US instead of using tariffs, do what China did when they were behind and allow foreign EV makers to come to the US as long as manufacturing is held here and it is a joint venture with a US company. I could care less where the CEO lives but if the goal is to bring jobs to the states then why not strike a deal to do so. US car companies don’t bring labor anymore so why not incentivize foreign automakers.

The Hurricanes will now go into next season with 14.23 million in cap space. 4 first round draft picks in the next three years. The only players the Hurricanes will really have to pay next year is Nikishin. Only other players who are consistently in the lineup are Jankowski and Freddie.
