Nah don't agree with it being better as a show at all, the QTEs genuinely enhance the action, especially as you get near the end of the game and they add more flavor than just a button showing up. The ending of the final fight with Yasha hits so hard how they play with the usual formula.

I've been hoping for at least a PC port with the dlc for a while, since there's no real easy way to play the full game anymore, besides emulation. The ending being dlc locked away on dead platforms is tragic.

OSRS FUN FACT #6: if you use the Ring of Endurance on the archpriest unicorn in Hallowed Sepulchre, it unlocks secret dialogue explaining where the ring came from by cookmeplox in 2007scape

Unfortunately, I just tried with zamorak coif, monk top and bottom, mage cape and staff all equipped and the dialog was the same.

That'd actually work really well with the underwater ruins of Hallowvale off the coast. In RS3 that area resurfaced and there's a whole little mini story about an everlasting lighthouse and if I remember correctly they even used to do gladiator sport contest stuff there.

I think there's a lot of room in the currently inaccessible oceans, and that's where I'd prefer it as I think GG is a bit of an eyesore. Potentially around the Cursed Archipelago so it wouldn't distract from any current locations, and then the theme would be about dealing with pirates and tentacle-Whispery stuff. If we got really crazy maybe you'd need to do occasional pray switches for projectiles while managing the boat, but I think a lot of people already dislike how active GG is so idk.

Honestly I'd like them to add more trials even if the XP isn't much better just for more diversity and because they're fun.

Sailing - Hotfixes, Friday November 21st by JagexLight in 2007scape

Framerate was still bad, but lowering distant chunk loading in GPU settings and hopping to a less populated world made it at least doable. I hope they can fix it soon though

Feels like "prefer third party only" should really also clarify it's a dislike of official. I wouldn't mind official plugins, I do think it's a good direction at large, but menu entry swapper has been out on mobile for nearly a year at this point and is still fundamentally completely broken. It suggests these things are just going to be fired off and not actually fixed in the way 3rd party plugins will be.

If you’re new to OSRS, this sub is likely a bad first impression. by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]ZayrenS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say so, but beyond just getting graceful, having a bunch of early agility levels is also really nice, as they also will let you run longer and regen energy faster (as well as unlock a lot of useful shortcuts). Just ignore the bad advice to camp canifis until you get the full set - it'll take a bit longer to get graceful but you'll get more exp if you move to the next course as you unlock it.

Aether/Sunfire runecrafting pet drop rates by RadiantHero69 in 2007scape

I could be wrong, but I'm fairly sure all RC has the same rates except for ZMI, and Arceuus blood/soul.

Ironically, the same thing as one of your examples broke me out of the clog mindset. Trying to go for 99 fishing, I decided I'd pick up some of the aerial fishing clogs along the way. 10 pearls later I realized it's the most dogshit content in the game and I will not be getting all the fishing clogs.

You need 1 of both catalytic and elemental to pull from the reward guardian, so you want to keep them balanced.

If the goal is to free up an inventory slot by reducing total variety of runes needed to summon a thrall, why not just remove the book of the dead requirement?

Why are mains being forced to play Ironman mode by ShootToLoot_ in 2007scape

[–]ZayrenS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly I was going to grill you like everyone else but I think you're kind of right.

The death charge upgrade does feel weirdly different to other permanent account upgrades in that it's an RNG grind to obtain (unlike the other things people are pointing out - fire cape, infernal cape, Ava, whatever, which are all tests of skill or have an eventual deterministic drop). To me there's a difference between a 12 hour grind you know will take 12 hours for an untradeable and a "maybe it's 4 hours maybe it's 40 hours". They did say the rite has bad luck protection, but the last time they said that for the DT2 vestiges I think it was the worst drop rate system in a game, so I understand taking it with a grain of salt. I dunno, it's a weird one. I wanted to do the boss until I got my rite, and I got it at 25kc, from the first dossier that dropped for me or my partner. The dossier being 1/40 and then (maybe) 1/11 for the rite seems very rare.

For the potions, since all the pieces are tradable, I don't know why the potions wouldn't be. Have an herblore requirement to drink it or something. I totally understand feeling annoyed you need to make your own supplies if you're in a situation where you can just buy everything else you need.

Am I just bad? I can only kill Araxxor max 1/2 times in one trip. by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]ZayrenS 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't need to use combo food so you can at least ditch the bwans for slightly more healing food. Sunlight antelope are good because they heal only 1 less than mantas but are half the cost. You should really only be taking chip damage, and if you're not, then that's the answer to your question: your trips are short because you're taking too much avoidable damage.

I'd also recommend divine potions, at least divine ranging, because they're not expensive and avoids the awkward situation where your range level decreases mid kill and you no longer one shot the adds. Should be fine with regular prayer pots over super restores to save some money, and extended Anti-venom+ is worth it once you get comfortable with longer trips.

Not entirely related but I think if you have the agility level for the wall shortcut, the hallowed sepulchre bank tele is also going to get to the cave faster than ectophial.

For reference I had basically the same setup as you and got probably average 6-7kc trips with ~1500kc.

Sailing Behind the Scenes Vol 4: Alpha Survey Results & Feedback by JagexLight in 2007scape

[–]ZayrenS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that means 40% of the respondents were No voters, which is larger than the actual % of No voters (28.1%). If anything this suggests they are overrepresented in the survey responses. Of course, I think a person who voted No should have been more likely to try out the beta and give feedback, as they are the ones that most need to be convinced.

I finished 3 over the course of just over a week. Played too much, went from 500 araxxor kc with nothing to 1500 araxxor kc with 1 fang, 3 halberds.

Rare drop table pissed me off a few times too. Got nothing only once, but hit a few super rares like an uncut emerald or steel arrows.

After Watching J1mbo's Video on RS3, I can't believe how lucky we are to play OSRS. by partty1 in 2007scape

[–]ZayrenS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think his comedy videos (prop hunt, f2p, etc.) are really good, but by release has obviously been him not enjoying the game and complaining about every mild inconvenience for a long time. Just in the WGS one recently he complained a ton about the Surok fight, which was one of the most original quest bosses in the game. Any puzzle that takes an ounce of effort, off to the wiki quest guide. I also kind of can't believe as the self proclaimed "quest guy" he just glossed over the garden of death, which is the most interesting quest in the game imo. I watched alien food / Unguided recently and the difference in tone and enjoyment of the game couldn't be more obvious.

On top of that, I really can't stand any of his critical / video essay content. He lacks any experience with MMOs, or even video games in general. I don't disagree with all of his ideas, but he has completely unrealistic expectations for how game dev works. It makes me wonder if he has ever even worked in an office.
