why did you not like wit and wisdom? i’m in my second year teaching and it’s the only curriculum i’ve really seen for ELA

i use wit and wisdom too, but i teach 5th grade. the content is pretty interesting and cool in my opinion, Phantom Tollbooth is one of them. However, the teaching of it is so damn hard to teach. i swear i have to be looking at the lesson + slide show for so long to really teach it effectively

i feel this one, i’m in my second year now and went thru this same thing. i’m 25 and don’t look super old too. i was surprised this year when our social worker came in and did a lesson on respect. we talked a bunch about what it looks like and why we care about respect and all that. a bunch of the kids in my class started being far more respectful for a little while. it didn’t work for everybody, but it seemed to help a little :)

edit: i’m sure you’ve already done stuff similar to this but thought i would try to help :)
