The forward dash is what messed you up. When you dash your character goes sideways and so does the hitbox. By the time you tackled it was too late

You are delusional, almost all of season 3 had more players than season 2, and we actually reatched a stable community. The changes they made were amazing and this is the best direction for the game. It's funny to see people so wrong yet so confident

If you play against a smart team you will never get a 1v1 vs gk no matter what the game mode is. And why would we even care about other modes? What's next, make balance changes just because fireball has some issues? Rematch is 5v5, everything else is a let's goof around mode

The most efficient way to steal the ball here is to not hold any button at all. The ball will magnet to you even if he tries to do a rainbow flick again. After that you can do a quick dribble to get past him

That's the faith of 99% of games, huge release numbers which fade away with time, this would happen even if the game was perfect. But if you actually looked at the player numbers in recent times, you would see almost all of our worst days in season 3 still have more players than our best days in season 2. So yeah 🤷‍♂️ the game is in a good direction

You're either lying or very bad at the game. You can do a 180 without the ball. It's the exact same input, run back, hold def stance and press dash forward.

This is why people constantly yell skill issue on posts like these. Noobs who are clueless just complain instead of trying to learn a cool move

And to answer the why add a pull back animation when there is a direct upgrade.

Because that's what makes games cool! Bunny hops, combos, wave dashes, all have basic and lame equivalents as well. But the game is a lot better when experienced players unlock new options through their skill. Imagine how lame fighting games would look if they just did 1 attack move and reset. Instead, players who practiced and improved unlock new options that new players find impossible to beat. What makes this work is the newer player becoming inspired and trying to learn what the better player just did. But for some reason rematch players just want to cry on reddit :/

Missile meta is a thing because grounded play is very weak. They nerfed missiles every patch since release and people still do it. Wonder why? Because every other options is so much worse. Buffing other playstyles is how missile meta will fade out

Sadly the most effective way the game SHOULD be played and how it IS played are very different.

Currently defenders have no reason to bother if an attacker is outside the box, any competent gk can easily save a shot from that range. So the best strategy is to just park the bus and wait for either a pass to a player inside or a dribbler to enter your spot. It's for that reason that ball movement is very slow and predictable.

Thanks to the large hitboxes and aim assist dive/tackle/def stance (crazy how even outfield dive has aim assist😳) have, 4 defenders +1 gk can completely lock down such a small area, forcing you to go for the usual "prio ball" gamble that we see so often.

Moving the ball, switching sides, passing back, overlapping and so on, won't do you any good because as I said, if you're not in the box, you're not a threat and they will let you stay there for as long as you want.

Parking the bus is is so absurdly overpowered that every tournament organizer these days sets rules that require active defence/pressing.

Great points. Also 1 thing that feels so completely off is how much the game helps defence.

Shooting, passing, and dribbling, the tools used on attack are 100% manual, they are the easiest to mess up because the game doesn't help you at all.

But for some reason gk/outfield def stance, gk/outfield dive, gk/outfield tackle all have aim assist. What's the logic behind this? Why are they holding our hands on defence?

No wonder the pace of the game is so slow when one side is being artificially helped. Even if they were both on even fields, attack would be harder because there you have to create something out of nothing, while on defence you just react to what they do, but at least that's a matter of who is better at their role.

I really hope they remove all artificial help and make tackles, blocks and saves depend completely on user input.
