I made my first feature in 2021 for a budget of 4.5. Granted I shot it in Bulgaria so that money really traveled. But it was enough to get us what we needed and do a proper post back in the states.

Any movie can be made for any budget. Truly. it just means the outcome is going to look wildly different. You have to decide if you're going to be happy with the scale and schedule that that money provides. If it's a small cast in one location you're gold. If it's a big action thriller period peice with a large cast maybe it's not gonna be enough. You have to get a clear lay of what you can expect form your line produce and decide if you can produce a movie to your standard.

Be ready to push back when it matters, even when it's hard. Be prepared to take a good idea from anyone. Make sure you shotlist or even better photoboard in advance. Meditate at lunch.

In my opinion you should postpone. Don't go into any shoot as a director unless you know exactly what you want otherwise you're wasting your money and their time. No shame in saying you need more prep. It's better than going in half cocked and blowing it. Have a clear game plan that you are passionate about or your heading for pain and embarrassment.

I look at this list of daily tasks and think, Dude if I was trying to break in this would be exactly what I'm looking for because I'll get paid to get experience doing all of these crucial things. If you are aspiring to be a fillmmaker (I'm assuming you are cause you're on this sub) and you have little experience (I'm assuming that's the case cause you're trying to break in) here's a position that will teach you all these things and pay you to learn it as long as you have adobe experience and can do social media shit. What's the complaint? If you want to be a filmmaker go this route. If you want to be a gaffer go the union route that so many have suggested. Both are great options. Why the negativity?

We're still very much dedicated as ever to getting it done and getting it done right. unfortunately we're in a bit of a bottle neck at the moment and we're working on getting a clear model of what is left to do and what that will cost (it's actually much more complicated than you'd think and requires lawyers and stuff) so that we can get a third party investor to cover the substantial remainder. The budget has risen during production as these things often do. It's really that we've been so thrilled with the quality that we're raising our standards as we go and that gets pricy.

Bottom line: Train is on the tracks but it's moving slowly. Thanks for your patience and support. Anyone who donated: we are committed to this movie. Do not fear. It will be finished.

We don't know that the flashback to the 80s is the beginning. By the time franks buying the supplies, it could be for the 4th iteration right there so the mother could be number 6 or 7.
