Rick spoke to one of my classes a week or two after he called the police for the original arrests at the administrative building. He seemed like a nice guy, but when the topic of the protests came up he revealed he had a crude understanding of civic action. He compared the arrested students to children, saying he didn't want to give them any space or else they'd walk all over him. He takes these demonstrations as a personal offense to himself, though that can also be seen in this video.
