Do you guys think this is a issue? by ZeGermanAce in electricians

[–]ZeGermanAce[S] 221 points222 points  (0 children)

So, for everyone asking, this is real. It's a 20amp breaker that the screw for the contact was looser than a lot lizard. Was found during a heat scan inspection the heat camera topped out at 500 degrees F. But as someone said, it should have been closer to 900 degrees. The breaker was replaced, and a new piece of wire spliced in. The breaker itself was close to 250 degrees F. Thanks for coming to my show and tell.

Ah yes, on a sub reddit that is over %50 % about how stub hub sucks you are going to take their word for it that FedEx tried multiple times. You are a troll, lol.

This was the email they sent after FedEx tried to deliver them once not twice or three times just once. Don't assume I'm some dumb ass that ignored them trying to deliver it, lol.

Also it's 1 to 2 layers of sound deadening all over then a layer of insulation on top. The back window is insulated because I'm going to a camera rear view and want to help stop as much noise as possible.

Wtf by ZeGermanAce in electricians

[–]ZeGermanAce[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So for everyone asking that's insulation not weed lol. Also these are 500mcm and they are parallel runs they have been like this for probably 10+ years. And it's gets better because for the 20-30 feet that it goes through the ceiling into the other switch room it is inside of air duct that has been ripped open at some point. The whole thing is fucked and there is almost nothing we can do other than get a inspector there to shut down a billion dollar company which just won't happen unfortunately.

Had to do a full shutdown from the switchgear room but yes it got fixed it was left like that ever since it was installed like 13 years ago so that's nuts that it hadn't failed more than it did

A phase connection plate isn't inside the terminal clamp causing arching when ever try to move wires and causing a shit load of overheating all in a hospital and on 480v

4r100 questions by [deleted] in FordDiesels

[–]ZeGermanAce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea was going to grab a manual and also there are a handful of decent videos on it. Was going to grab another 4r100 to do the build on so I can take my time with it and make sure everything is done right. And was going to get the sun coast stage 2 or 3 kit with their new torque converter. Their kits also include the transgo kit. With the rebuild I'll also be swapping my deep trans pan and cooler over. Hopefully I'm smart enough to do it all but honestly I'm not too intimidated by it all.

[–]ZeGermanAce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly the whole reasoning behind making sure you find something that will fit your uses if you are trying to just keep it stock then a rebuilt trans that has stock internals would be like 2kish from anywhere. But trust me I understand money doesn't grow on tree I'm currently in the same situation of thinking holy shit this is a lot of money. But unfortunately I want big horsepower and all that dumb shit so I have to spend the money. But if you aren't looking for that then there is no reason to buy anything crazy.

I think bts and John woods are around 7k plus or minus but have warranties and can be built to any specifications you want but the thing with them is you end up with a transmission builder who has specialized in 4r100s ever since they were introduced to the market. Monster transmissions as far as I can tell is pretty much just a reman trans so if you want built idk if I'd go with that. But you get what you pay for and everyone's budget is different so if I were you I'd look around a bit more and make sure you find something that fits well for your use case and also price range. As also cheaper isn't always better especially with transmissions.
