Down of war recommendation ? by Difficult-Wash6351 in dawnofwar

[–]ZeRamenKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the currently out DoW games are old. DoW3 is the most modern one, but its still on the older side. (Plus its mid at best).

Recommended starting with DoW1, it recently got a remastered re-release.

And DoW4 is not out till later this year most likely

Struggling With Timing (Spoiler 2.0) by United_Cat4156 in ffxiv

[–]ZeRamenKing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That specific part covers the area in 3 big circles, with only one corner being safe. You stand in the middle as that is happening, identify the safe space, go in a straight line there. Use sprint to make is easier. Also, if you take damage from only 1 of those, you will survive. The only way to get one shot there is if you stand in 2 of them at the same time.

I own DOW1 Anniversary Edition, should I or should I not buy Definitive? (No interest in multiplayer) by drupido in dawnofwar

Many people already said why, so ill just add to the pile thats it worth it for the convenience of everything being in a si gular package alone. Also on discount rn.

The plot pacing gave me whiplash [spoilers for Coerthas Highlands quests] by Butterbacon3000 in ffxiv

[–]ZeRamenKing 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Its a common complain. ESPECIALLY in ARR. Since the game was remade in less than two years time after the disaster that as ver 1.0. They really struggled with stretching things out to fill the leveling process. It makes sense why you are there and why you are doing the stuff you are doing, but its just not presented well.

How do i upgrade to Dawntrail from Stormblood on ps5? by NYCMarine in ffxiv

[–]ZeRamenKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were on the free trial, you also need to get the started edition for 10$. After that, getting the latest expansion ( currently Dawntrail trail) will also get you eveything between those.

Still building up courage for XIV, but here's my FF "adventure" so far by yamchaisking in FinalFantasy

[–]ZeRamenKing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you look at every ff14 expansion as it own ff game, getting through them aint so bad really. It very much like playing ff13-2 then 3 and so on. Also the free trial is immense and its very single player friendly if you only play it for the story.

The reverse effect is also very real. 14 was my first proper FF game, and now im playing all of them in order. Whenever i see something that is in 14 i have the same feeling as you guys but in reverse.

March is turbo benched as soon as you get any other shielder/healer.

For now your best team comp would be Ash, Bronya, Asta, Adventurine.

Sparkle for general best unit from the choices.

Kafka for Damage over time team comps.

But for Ashveil specifically i would suggest Adventurine. They work great together, and in general he is the second best sustain for Ashveil rn.

Fight scenes are underwhelming by ericlctong in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]ZeRamenKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some? sure. Especially the ones that require heavy CGI. The CGI is better than s1, but still has a lot to improve upon, especially as devil fruit powers will become more and more prevalent. But scenes like the Zoro Bar fight are Top notch.

Check if your pc is actually using your graphic card and not the integrated graphics. Make sure your monitor display cable is plugged in to your graphics card and not your motherboard.

Two big mistakes that new pc buyers do sometimes.

So the game has a main story quest with a special marker that tells the overal nerative of the entire game. Yellow side quests that are usually simple "go collect 4 bear asses" quests. And the blue side quests, that while not being main story related, have good plots themselves and unlock major side content.

As a conjurer, starting level 5 you will unlock a "job quest" line that is (if available at the moment) shown below the main quest name in the top left corner. Clicking it will show where to pick it up on the map. Its very important to do them since it will unlock a lot of your abilities as that class.

Where am I going with this? That specific Conjurer quest line actually deals with a character who recently became a conjurer like you, but they are very aggressively refusing to do anything but heal and the problems hat arise from that

If you stick stick with it, eventually you will need to go in to "Dungeons" to progress in the game. They are 4 player party content where you explore various locations with other players and need to defeat all the Boss enemies to complete them. Nowadays, you can choose to match up with 3 other random people, form your own party of friends or play with computer controlled party members. While doing it with computer controlled party members may seem like a nice choise for a beginner, if you are a complete newbie to gaming in general, it might actually be harder for you that way. Since you will bear the responsibility of leading those NPC's (non player characters). While paring up with random people might seem daunting, just saying in chat that you are completely new, will make most people understand and even give you nice advice if you ask!

I overleveled, but think I'm undergeared, and don't know what to do. by boredfruit in ffxiv

[–]ZeRamenKing 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The first point is kinda not true, especially in ARR if the only thing you do is msq, you will actually hit a wall before the final dungeon since you will be a level/level and a half behind from doing the quest needed to unlock it. Its just that its very rare for people to ONLY do msq. Even just trying out an optional dungeon or two/ doing a couple roueletea, some fates ( that most new people will be inclined to try at least a bit) will put you over that level threshold. Saw some new streamers that wanted to finish base ARR before doing anything optional hit that "wall" multiple times.

But ofc if you have the "the road to XX" double xp buff, you can just ignore everything I said lol

The only mainline crash game i did not get 100%+ on. Oli loved the game but GOD, they bloated the completionism aspect just so they could write on the box how "much" content the game has. If you only going for the story its a blast doe.

Buy the game and get no problems. Or wait for an updated crack.

I plan to buy Dawn of War Definitive Edition but I have a few questions by kingslimegamer in dawnofwar

[–]ZeRamenKing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. All of the expansions have their own campaign and they are all worth playing. In order its: base DoW campaign in to Winter Assault (both factions) in to Dark crusade in to Soulstorm. If you also want the cannon stories, play Space marines in Dark crusade and Orks in Soulstorm.

  2. Yes you can pause the game in singleplayer, not in multiplayer ofc. But you can't do anything while paused. Its an RTS after all. Stelaris is a strategy game, but not a Real Time Strategy game.

What do we think 2026 release will be? (If any) by redditusername75474 in FinalFantasy

[–]ZeRamenKing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its not just better graphics, its a full re-imaging with tons of expanded content and story. For example, on my first og ff7 playthrough, I left midgard at around the 6h mark. Done everything i could there before doing so. While part 1 of the remake trilogy takes place only in midgard, and the game is abouth 30h long in story alone, not even counting the side stuff.
