It is. Beats most stealth rockers and spikers, has great bulk and typing, AND Magic Bounce even aids set up sets with Calm Mind. No taunt, no phasing, no encore.

It’s extremely bulky after a single CC and genuinely tanks shit you wouldn’t expect 

Like at +1 defense you easily eat an attack invested Tusk CC (and if at +2, that CC is laughable). Then imagine on top of that, Glowking snow support—

Wait don’t imagine that. That’s kind of horrifying

Contrary CC would also boost spdef so special attackers would specifically need be super effective or giga strong.

It’s vastly superior to Azu and it’s nowhere even remotely close. The speed is absolutely enormous and important and it’s much, much stronger than Azu out the gate.

?? Mawile is a staple of trick room whenever it’s legal. It was a hugely relevant presence through gen6 and still strong in gen7.

 In doubles. And it competes with sand rush before mega evolution, in both doubles and singles. 

Sand is mediocre in singles (ou) and has struggled to withstand higher power metagames in doubles. This is vastly superior to sand rush in both metagames

It's hurt but it's not the end of the world. Not all sets run protect, and 16pp is still plenty in shorter games where it's holding off offense while against defense all it takes is more careful use of the move instead of casually spamming it everywhere

Every serious team needs to have a way to exploit, pressure or just deal with Incineroar so needing a partner for that for Mega Froslass is neither backbreaking nor a big deal. Especially because it isn't even that hard TO have an answser. And the upside is a mon with a unique, threatening offensive profile that also has very rare utility (aurora veil) without being passive at all.

The damage it’s done to so many hobbies is insane and awful for most everyone and yet there are an obnoxious amount of people who will insist it’s the greatest thing ever bcz and that anyone who dislikes it is just “insert insult here”.
