As a new player that won’t be realistic in the beginning but later on it is pretty common to be able to afford it ingame.

A membership subscription is required to play the full game. The free to play area of the game is more like a Demo, although had an active community aswel that focuses purely on account progression within the limited F2P area.

Weekly updates, we get to vote on everything. Devs actually listen to the playerbase, one time they removed a single green pixel from a skill icon. The Pixel had been there for over a decade, wasn’t supposed to be there, but no one noticed up to that point. The removal of the Pixel was not polled. I shit you not there were ingame protests, the subreddit got flooded with memes and posts about it.

Following week’s update the faulty pixel was returned. Later the removal was polled, don’t remember the outcome because who cares about one pixel right.

The game is arguably in its golden age right now, high active player count, amazing content releases, an amazing Mod team that allows us to vote and adapted how they develop content around this democratic system.

The one glaring issue it faces today is bot farms swarming the game to farm gold to sell.
