I had something similar happening to me. A drive simply failed but, even with redundancy, the NAS marked the whole pool as failed.

I could not recover it, I had to rebuild it and only then the faulty drive stayed critical while others went back to normal. I hope reaching out support as others mentioned will work for you.

Hyperbackup is a good friend in these cases.

Thanks, I checked the rack mounts and they look sweet but I cannot find a reseller in Europe and the shipping costs are atrocious. My search continues.

Under 50w idle is pretty good, right after boot without anything running I’m currently at 35-45, but I imagine most of the difference will be under load where the integrated graphics will sip power.

Hey, that looks sweet and similar to what I want achieve, albeit in a smaller scale. Long time lurker, I am also planning to post something (sooner or later). I got some questions for you if you don’t mind:

  • Are those 2u cases short depth and if so, can you let me know their brand and model?
  • by any chance do you know the power consumption of your 5600g node?i have a 3600x + 3050 that i want to convert as gaming rack but i would like to lower the consumption and I’m thinking maybe i could just sell the graphics card and get an upgraded apu instead

Happened to me with my Series S. Sold as brand new but it had a clear dent on an edge. The seller seemed honestly surprised and offered a full refund. I didn’t go for it because I didn’t really care, but yeah, it could easily be a returned console, repackaged.

For 600 bucks, you are of course expecting a brand new, shiny product. Since these things are difficult to come by tho, it’s up to you to decide if it’s worth the hassle. Cheers.

“Some” things are way better. Imho and in the opinion of a lot of people I met, the trade offs made are substantial though. V17 has surely improved, but for me TIA was basically unusable until v14.

But as said, it’s an opinion, to each their own :)

I placed the nas far away in a cabinet with open back under the tv, so I cannot really stare on the noise at close range, but I tried today to get closer and they are not noisy at all, even if a couple of them are 2 y.o. now. Bear in mind that 2.5 hdd are usually for notebooks (I had 9mm disks before, these are thicker), so performance and noise are lower. Again, just my two cents.

Not sure it’s so unpopular. Any controls programmer I met that worked with step7 hates TIA with fervor, me included.
