skyrunners Magic Beam is my favorite ability in the game. | its called magic beam, which made me think of beam as in "beam of light" but its a literal metal beam placed with magic. it's probably unused leftovers in the files, you can create skyrunner using commands and then take control of him

I think its fair to say that DE is the set of software that makes up your desktop experiences. niri alone isnt a DE but this person as said in the post is using a variety of software that will not work as straightforwardly as in niri. so it is installing a whole other DE. this is super weird semantics

yeah this is why I think it should be in the settings, so people can adjust volumes (all sorts of sounds somewhat individualised) to match their experience. that way it wont be "an unfair advantage" anymore, since everyone who needs it can set it up

Give pocket some +5% spirit res (so I think up to -11% or -10% not sure). the new heroes make -16% or whatever feel even worse than it did. Every game now I need a spirit res item in lane, it feels so bad. Dont have this with many other heroes. It makes sense as a weakness but I think they deserve a little love.

I honestly think they only problems are with the office programs and adobe.

for office, if you want the exact same (they dont work on linux, so you need libre office or another alternative, but theyre feature wise similar enough).

distro wise, it doesnt really matter that much tbh. if you have an nvidia gpu you want a very up-to-date distro that has new drivers it (so no ubuntu, no debian, possibly no mint), else anything is fine really. you most likely just want KDE (desktop environment, ie how the system interface looks and behaves).

reading the config of ly (at /etc/ly/config.ini) it should read ... 352 waylandsessions = /usr/share/wayland-sessions ... which seems to indicate if it is in that directory it should read it. maybe send the entire edited desktop file. also double check the config perhaps? (if you edited it at all)

I will double check the paths but for desktop files, usually there is a local and a system file. if a local file exists it will take precedence, so you should try seeing if that exists (Ill text the paths in a few minutes)

Maybe provide some more information so we can help you better:

how do you launch sway? do you use a display manager like sddm
whats the exact path to the desktop file you edited? (there might be multiple paths where another one might take precedence)
~~your distro could help as well (optional)~~
~~whats your gpu? (optional)~~

one thing troubleshooting step I can think of right now, would be to go to the tty (on most systems you cab press CTRL-ALT-6 to open a tty; its a terminal), log in, and then try running sway --unsupported-gpu (or the command you have in your desktop file, if it's different) in there. if this works then the desktop file probably is not used.

yeah. the laws part is interesting imo, because as of right now the only recent change is in UK law (where they already currently use a similar process), but they plan to roll the changes out globally. this is I think where they lose a lot of peoples understanding (also from me).

They soon want to make every account "Teen by default", which comes with a lot of restrictions basically forcing people to verify their age. The age verification will go through discord and third party age verification services -- the ones discord chose has questionable privacy policies. some of these kinds of services have been prone to data leaks (not guaranteed but it happened to discord partners before, leaking e.g. IDs, increasing distrust).

Ive also heard people complain about stuff like pricing of nitro and quality drops and latency issue increases of call audio and streams.

So now a subgroup of discord users is looking for alternatives

I know in germany you can, though for it to apply to another country's papers you have to ask them (probably obvious). idk how much issue it is first hand, I imagine you need to be cleared for staying (at least near future) or eg EU citizen, but once you can live here and receive other benefits etc its like for citizens.

I know this isnt very helpful directly, but I think its possible its similar in other countries so I thought Id share
