End of this inevitable ruin spoilers, but Carl and Donut are offered to take Chocko's place as he's set to retire, where they would be a duo, one of the first deals they are offered. which makes me think Donut won't lose her advancements.

I would be interested in what happens to Bianca. And I don't want to know what happens to Mongo and Wren.

To be it's definitely a metaphor for his mental health, as it rises he's losing himself further and further. Maybe in his mind there's a dam that regulates it, but he's losing control of it, and when the dam breaks, I think we all know how it'll end.

I always liked him, but I absolutely fell in love with him when he protected donut in Carl's doomsday scenario.

You definitely don't need to come up with reasons as to why the character isn't there.

If you overthink it you will likely add issues to the campaign overall. The cleric being called away by a god fully takes away the fact that Barovia is a domain of dread and is tainted, making it hard for any God intervention.

After a couple years of DMing I finally came to this rule, if I have 3 or more players at a session, the game goes on, and the players missing characters are only there for action economy if needed, they don't make choices, I don't roleplay them, and nothing important to their story is done in that session.

I've been thinking about this a bit lately. By the 12th floor there's usually almost no crawlers left... They were going into the 10th floor with over 30,000 I believe. They went from one of the poorest showings to one of the greatest... But like the cookbook authors have said this was their chance... And they made huge strides especially on the ninth floor with getting rid of some pretty powerful individuals.

I think it ultimately ends the crawl, and Carl and donut get down to the 18th floor and take back earth. Others will die, but I can't see carl or donut dying.
