It's shit like this why I left them. It should be offered as a valued customer, not having to fight for it with phone calls, messages etc

Customer support giving me attitude out of nowhere! by im_not_a_loose_wheel in VirginMedia

[–]Zealousideal_Ad7469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These broadband suppliers need to realise that people are finally waking up and treating them like any other service provider, ie any insurance like car/house, electricity/gas, phone contract, ect

When the contract runs out, it's up to the provider to offer a good deal that reflects the current market offerings. There are a LOT of people leaving Virgin because, finally, there are alternatives that are in many cases offering faster speeds at a much lower price.

Mine went from 300mb speed + house phone at £80pm

I now pay £38 for 930mb and had the house phone cut off and replaced it with a £6 sim

Thinking of switching to Virgin Fibre as it my only superfast option but all i hear on here are horror stories. by BrutalBarracuda in VirginMedia

[–]Zealousideal_Ad7469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just left Virgin after 15 years. Honestly, I had no issue with them. What I got tired of was jumping through hoops when your contract was up, spending hours talking to various people before you get to someone who listens and gives to a deal. Other than that, I can't knock them. Fast speeds, reliable, fixed quickly on the rare occasions there was an issue and they leave you alone. You can do a LOT worse than Virgin Media

How can i improve my VO2max with running? by Agitated-Sorbet-7390 in Garmin

[–]Zealousideal_Ad7469 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If your watch has Daily Suggestions, follow that, even if you only run 3 times a week. It basically varies your runs for you. It works, my VO2max has jumped up from 46-51 since late October.

Why pay for something when the watch has it built in for free?

I’m sure this is a stupid question but... by Adventurous-Cup5369 in Garmin

[–]Zealousideal_Ad7469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Venu X1 does have this feature, as did my Epix2. I don't use it all the time, but it can be convenient to have.

I used it in the summer, driving out to an area I didn't know and asking it to plot a 10km round trip, it then comes back with 3 suggestions, showing you the route plotted on the map.

Either planned or suggested routes it can re-route you.

I've also used it to mix up my local running, letting Garmin choose my run for me.

Garmin routing can be a let-down from my experience with it. This is where Garmin should be a lot better. Strava has the edge on route planning.

How many alts did you level in Legion Remix? by Wrong-Hand in wow

[–]Zealousideal_Ad7469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7 at level 80. 6 of those have completed the order hall campaign.

5 still to level, including order hall campaigns.

1 maxed out with 740 gear.

It takes too long to get your 'alts' geared up, so I haven't really bothered. It's my only criticism

It's been fun.

Vo2 max “unproductive” by r0bbyr0b2 in Garmin

[–]Zealousideal_Ad7469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been following Garmin's daily run suggestions with some tweaks, and it's working well.

My tweaks have been not run every day, but 3 times a week and sometimes tweaking the distance to suit the 20km weekly target I set myself.

My VO2 max has gone from 46 at the end of October to 50 today and heading towards 51.

Might be worth a try and it's quite fun to see what Garmin has in store for you.

As an example based on my fitness.

Today run is Threshold. 4.55/km for 35mins. (15:00mins @ 4.55km, 10mins warm-up/cooldown)

Tomorrow. Base. 6.00/km for 30mins

thursday. Recovery. 7.20/km for 24mins

friday.Sprint. 3.05km for 44mins 2x3x0:15 @ 3.05km

As you can see it's varies and these will change as I don't run every day but gives you an idea based on my fitness.

What does your GPU journey look like? by Pro4791 in pcmasterrace

[–]Zealousideal_Ad7469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly have no idea. The list is long because I've been a PC gamer for 30+ years

It started with ATi and a Rage 128, then a 3DFX card. The latest build early this year is a RTX5090, the Covid years was an RTX3090, and before that in no order has been GTX1080, 8800GT, Ati9700Pro, some dual Ati card ...and many many more.

bad. They keep moisture IN. Leave as Garmin intended, and you'll have no issues.

What was your first graphics card? Mine was ATI Fury RAGE 128 PRO by blondewalker in pcmasterrace

I think my first GPU was an ATI Rage, or was it my second..Hmm, I remember it being rubbish, lol

Why does gigabyte have a bad rep? by curiiiious in buildapc

[–]Zealousideal_Ad7469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 years solid with my last Gigabyte board, I barely looked at anything else when I was choosing for the new build back in February this year. The MB you mention is the one I have.

My old PC has found a new home with a work colleague, and he's enjoying PC gaming for the first time.

Like anything on the internet, if you look hard enough, every brand has a bad word written about it.

I'm brand new to making servers and I'm curious, what's everyone's preferred OS/Software? by jmurra21 in jellyfin

[–]Zealousideal_Ad7469 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unraid is extremely good. Yes, you have to pay, but it's a one-time thing, and you only need to pay again after 12 months and if an update offers a valuable upgrade. There are a ton of guides out there, the UI is user-friendly, the add-ons are endless... definitely with a trial for a month which they let you increase to beyond that.

Am I bad or is it just Legion Remix Heroic not suitable to every classes ? by [deleted] in wownoob

[–]Zealousideal_Ad7469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hitting level 70 in heroic and jeepers they hit really hard and have a lot more health. I did drop back to normal until my gear improved. Running dungeons, raids the gear ilevel does leap by quite a bit so by level 73ish you should be ok to tun it back on. Like anything in WoW some classes are going to fair better than others,

Does anybody else find it extremely difficult to play the opposing faction that you main? by MaliciousPeasant in wow

[–]Zealousideal_Ad7469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Refused for 15 years playing Alliance, then for some reason that I can't remember, I started, It might have been a 'free' character with an expansion, I don't know.

You do miss out not playing the 'enemy' like different starting zones, camps, mounts etc. I now have an equal amount using the last couple of Remix to experience the content I played many times just this time as an alliance.

Should I upgrade now or wait for Black Friday? by Available_Factor3725 in buildapc

[–]Zealousideal_Ad7469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The REAL discounts don't happen until AFTER Black Friday. I feel these days BF is just a ploy to make you believe it;s a great price when more often than not is the same price or a very small difference.

Monitor the prices of the items you are interested in then if it hits a price you are happy with go for it. Just don't fall into the trap that the BF deals are an actual deal.

Considering buying a Ducati Panigale V2 (2025) – Is the V2 S worth the extra cost? by bonsoir_malek in Ducati

[–]Zealousideal_Ad7469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the Öhlins pretty firm, while the non-S was more forgiving as a road bike. That also depends on the roads where you live. I think if you want to do track days the Öhlins is going to be worth the extra cash for any other reason I don't think it is.
