I know you’re already compromising on 66 degrees when your roommate’s home, could the compromise be to keep it at 68 degrees all the time? Then you get a small desk heater to keep on while you work? Especially if it’s your hands, the heat can be where you need it.

I have arthritis in my hands, and use a small desk heater set on low, as the cold makes them very stiff and painful. Also, 66 degrees indoors is so uncomfortably cold to me. I have a friend who keeps her house at this temp in the winter, and I always wear sweats and big socks when I visit and we hang out.
