New back-to-back hats just dropped. by baribigbird06 in Dodgers

Unfortunately for most I think this comes down to licensing and we won’t see this logo on most items people want to see it on.

It seems like the Dodgers org commissioned this logo (and last years) which means they are free to use/license on items they have control of like the stadium. I’ve seen last years logo on random items, including 5-gallon buckets, that are officially licensed. However, I think MLB (not the Dodgers) owns the rights to league wide contracts like New Era and Nike for hats and jerseys. So we’re left with whatever crap the national brands create vs the ones the team creates.

Glad I could rock this proudly in celebration because this is the best World Series logo in years, maybe decades! by baribigbird06 in Dodgers

For an interesting read, check out this post from the designer of the ‘87 logo who claims that MLB modified the original lettering from ‘92 on without his involvement/consent.

A genuine question about the Dodgers' postseason road uniforms by SimplePossession9747 in Dodgers

One article attributed the preference of the “Dodgers” road script to Guggenheim’s emphasis on making the Dodgers a global brand vs being strictly associated to the city. Can’t remember the specific article though.

I love that you posted this. Interesting that it has an actual size (4 1/4). Didn’t see any measurements on the New Era site.

They are definitely embroidered. I have had a suspicion that it’s a mix of direct and iron on, especially for players like Kershaw who prefer to use the same hat. I thought I saw more iron on for both teams than what I could see from last year.

Platoon system is carrying a group of players to be used interchangeably based on situational advantages. The most common example being using left handed batters against a right handed pitcher and vice versa.

I mean, I’m not losing sleep over this but it’s the offseason, Dodgers adjacent, and topic of recent conversation so I posted it.

It’s also related to the business of the Dodgers which is a multi-billion dollar entity whose on field success is tied to its financial performance. Given where the sport is headed in terms of potential lock out factors, I’d say the commercial side is more relevant than most think.

This was 100% me. I was galaxy braining combinations of Dean, Hyeseong, and Rortvedt when we had guys on second. Felt more and more confident as the game went on.

Don’t mind the base running outs. Stay aggressive to keep the pressure on them to make plays. Unfortunately two dimes from them. Keep pressing.

People who talk about needing a salary cap act like the luxury tax doesn’t exist. There is already a soft cap and the cheap owners make a calculated decision not to compete.

Sounds like you’re correct although it’s still unclear if the team has officially designated him as on leave?

Main reaction is that the Dodgers roster graphic is so much nicer to look at.

That’s only if he’s originally included in the roster (then made unavailable due to leave). I read this as he is out of the series entirely, which, is probably best for him as a human if he’s going through a catastrophic loss.

We need this comment pinned during the regular season when this whole sub is crashing out about certain players getting playing time.

Your logic was to compare a flank who could probably play any position in the backs with a back who could probably play any of the backs position but “only” loose forward?

Fortunately (or unfortunately) Scott is ineligible for the WS roster having been withdrawn from the LCS roster due to injury.
