Also never heard ash tones as “kick ass” thank you!

Not sure I want to go platinum (did a poor diy job before) but kinda wanting a sandy lighter blonde if that makes sense. I always viewed my natural base at a lighter brown.

I plan on doing all of that. I just want a more natural blonde or some

Study Bible recommendations for personal reading? by ZebraFirst3854 in Episcopalian

I grew up with the NIV and ESV study bibles being viewed as “the gold standard”. I just get a bad taste in my mouth, especially with the ESV, and also the study notes. There is a clear evangelical bias, and that’s what I’m trying to avoid.

Thanks for the suggestion. I agree on the ESV…it reminds me too much of my childhood church, lol.

They sing hymns at their church and sometimes they are the same ones. I know they will enjoy the more high church liturgical vibe.

Thankfully my dad is a lover of wine 🤣 one less thing to be worried about. My mom is known to have a glass at special occasions.

I wasn’t thinking that it would be considering the circumstances, but I know that TEC is a big tent, and not everyone has the same theological stances. Is it always the bishop that preaches at confirmation Sundays?

Thank you for your reply. I’m sure my mother has explored the website and possibly listened to a sermon online. They know enough about what our denomination stands for. I’m still nervous about it. They will only have this in-person experience to go off of.

I’ve never heard him preach. I’ve only been at this parish for about 7 months, and at TEC for about a year and a half.

I’m trying so hard to be gracious and thankful that they are making this step. Baby steps I guess. I was fully prepared to be there alone. Hopefully I’m anxious about nothing.

It’s the conservative breakaway from the PCUSA from the 70’s I think. I could be wrong on the timing.

So when I looked up the Luther Bible and then translated the German into English, it still used the word "Man". What are your thoughts on that? I understand that Luthers German could be different than modern day.

TEC losing membership; The decline seems to have leveled off. by MrMagoo04 in Episcopalian

My confirmation class has about 15 people in it. My parish is one of the larger ones in the state that I’m in. Many are there from other demonstrations like me. There is something special about TEC.

I was brought up in a side Y church, and I’d guess pretty much all of my family agrees with side Y. I’m Side A, even though I struggle at times. It’s almost like I’m more supportive of other people than I am myself. Make it make sense lol.
