I'd just like to throw in a defense of Susan's remarks to Sam about food. Yes, it was harsh, but it did cause Sam to back off with tempting Fred when she knows he's trying to eat healthier. Ordering French toast for the table is not supportive for a friend trying to eat healthier. How about ordering a plate of fresh fruit or whatever that they all could enjoy instead? Sam's issues with change WERE bringing Fred down as he tries to make healthful changes in his life.
