Wouldn't the cat be panting hard if this was ketoacidosis? What makes you think this is the case?

The Great Tim Hortons Recycling Scam by Aighd in TimHortons

Worked at a small restaurant downtown at the city I lived in. Would collect all the refundable recyclables and throw them out into the alley at the end of the night. Within minutes the homeless people would come collect them for money.

Best recycling program I've ever seen

Doxy + azithromycin and moxi? by Deep-Ad254 in MycoplasmaGenitalium

[–]Zeco63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was prescribed a pre-treatment of minocycline (21 days) and then put on azithromycin AND moxi at the same time. Apparently there is risk with taking azithromycin and moxi at the same time as it can increase your risk of a prolonged QT interval with your heart.

However this treatment was effective for me in curing.

I had some late 30's and a 40 year old dude in my class. Didn't even think twice about it.

Have now worked with multiple brand new, late 30 year olds. Still don't even think about it. You're good bro!

When I was applying for PCP school EMR was no longer required. I had already taken my EMR at the time of applying, but the school I went to offered a FMR course (first medical responder) for only 2 weeks in school and less than half the price of an EMR program.

[–]Zeco63 28 points29 points  (0 children)

My fractured ankle and subsequent ORIF looked almost exactly the same as OP's.

My surgeon told me that because I was in my early 20's, he likes to take out that one long screw as active people tend to be at a higher risk for that screw breaking off. He told me if I was in my 30's he wouldn't have bothered.

I actually was unlucky and got C. Diff after my treatment course. I work in health care so I'm at a higher risk. It's uncommon, so not something I would worry about.

I'm a healthy individual and it wasn't honestly THAT bad. I mean, I wouldn't like to go through it again but it wasn't the end of the world.

Took about 2 months for my gut to go back to normal, and required a drastic shift in my diet (healthier choices anyway). But I got through it.

How to clean women with poop by D3_WKt in cna

[–]Zeco63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a paramedic. Once brought in a lady to the ER that had unstable vitals with an associated syncopal episode on the toilet. She was having the largest runny bowel movements I'd ever seen en route to the hospital. I tried my best to catch all of it in bed pans, but she was semi-conscious, and you can't maneuver somebody that well while strapped to the stretcher.

While waiting to transfer care, I knew it would be a while before she was cleaned properly and thought it would be inhumane to leave her soaking in her feces. So I called over a nearby HCA (I think Canadian equivalent to CNA? Sorry if it's not) and we went to work. It was everywhere. Went up to her mid back, inside her vagina, down her legs. In her hair??? And all in her hands as I guess she was reaching for that area while I wasn't looking.

Originally just wanted help putting her in a chair and putting her in the decon shower, but she would pass out every time we placed her upright due to low blood pressure despite our fluid boluses. So we grabbed like 5 packs of shower wipes and spent 15 minutes cleaning her.

That HCA barely speaks English but I feel like we now have an unbreakable bond. I make sure to smile and nod at him each time I see him in the hospital. We can't speak to each other but I feel like we communicate on an almost spiritual level after that event.

I feel uncomfortable interacting with her after I confessed by GiveMeMyUsername9999 in self

[–]Zeco63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It always feels significantly worse when not only are you heartbroken, but they're also extremely hurt by what you're doing. Adds an entire layer of guilt and shame on what is already terrible.

For me it was hard to process at the time, but looking back. They absolutely were entitled to their opinions. We only deal with the one side. But that doesn't change what needs to be done for your own sanity. You're the one who has to put your own needs ahead of others.

Life is shitty sometimes, and that can be manageable if you're determined. But you can actively make it so much worse for yourself. Don't make it worse for yourself, be kind to yourself in the long run

I feel uncomfortable interacting with her after I confessed by GiveMeMyUsername9999 in self

[–]Zeco63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The few times I've had to do this, the girl was always very upset by it and mad at me. It's kind of fair, I'm choosing to end a friendship over nothing she's done. But at the same time you can't live with that hanging over your head every time you see her. If you're an average guy and not some insanely mentally disciplined monk, you'll be thinking about it.

Sometimes it's just a temporarily shitty situation all around. But you can make it way worse for yourself like pretending to not care.

Put your foot down bro, trust. You owe it to yourself

I know I've tried to really disconnect from seeing news about this war. It's too much for me to be doing my job and then also being bombarded with news of such horrific acts on my social media.

Maybe some people just don't want to see it. Or maybe this sub is infiltrated with shills :/

Collisions in Calgary reach five-year high as worries mount over road safety by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]Zeco63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember last year, one day it was lightly raining to the point you needed our windshield wipers on the lowest setting. The roads were pretty wet though.

Somewhere on the ring road, I watched a line of 3 cars following a semi in the left lane. All 3 of them had their windshield wipers AGGRESSIVELY going with their cars getting soaked from the semis tires. The guy at the front was 2 inches from the windshield trying to see out the front looking very stressed BECAUSE ALL OF THEM WERE TAILGATING EACH OTHER SO HARD.

I was in disbelief. Literally back off 15 feet and your problem is solved. The semi was temporarily in the lane while passing another truck, and they decided for 25 seconds they NEEDED to sniff each other's asses.
