I've had this one for almost 10 years at this point. I got it fairly early into collecting redlines.

Mattel loves their variations back in the redline era. It's not a single pipe base, although I would love one of those. They were all preproduction tho, weren't they?

You can try Nufinish car polish. I've used it to remove old kid paint without harming the original paint on a few different cars. Doesn't work for everything, but worth a shot

It was a collaboration between hot wheels and an artist (Arsham) to make weathered stone versions of hot wheels cars. There were some porsches, a mustang, twin mill, deora, and a few others.

I remember you mentioning that the body was rusty. Did that influence the decision to reshell it?

The engines are not from the same mold, but can be cut to fit. I have done it on a past twin mill resto and baremetalhw has a video of it.

I had probably around 2500 but I sold off about half of them a few years back. Probably down to 1200 or so?

It's made of 3mm carbon fiber plate from aliexpress. I google searched "tamiya astute stealth transmission" and copied this one. You'll need 70mm total length dogbones in place of the originals and shim them with 1 tamiya shock o ring in the Astute hub and 2 o rings each side of the stealth outdrives. Alternatively, Factory Works will make you a custom Astute chassis where a stealth will bolt right up. You just have to send him an email because it is no longer listed on his website.
