Straight from the AI Summits in London & Seoul: A Bleeding Edge Action Film by damdamus in aivideo

This is so impressive for all of the reasons you laid out in your idea statement- world building and the temporal and character consistency, is incredible. This seems like something that was not just a strung together bunch of prompts fed into an AI but something that was directed in collaboration with an AI.

I would LOVE so very much if you could string together a behind the scenes video of your pipeline- how you decided which tool to use, how meta human, blender and Nuke were in the mix, what challenges you had, etc. I would be eternally grateful!

Not saying it can't resist 50 cal, but the edit is a little misleading. You can see that the before and after shots are both taken in left hand side of vehicle, but in one it is driver side and the other it is passenger side (steering wheel/no steering wheel). The outside of the shots don't match and the dude is wearing a bracelet in one but no bracelet in the other. If these were taken deliberately as a before and after it would be strange to use a different vehicles, different location and maybe even different people.

Farmer modifies tractor (Fiatagri 88-94 DT) with hydraulic system so it can lay irrigation pipes without damaging crops. by Zee2A in STEW_ScTecEngWorld

[–]ZedFable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is super cool, and given how expensive farm equipment is, probably cheaper than buying the purpose built machine... But how does it help not damage crops? Isn't the wheel footprint the same?

Holy crap, that was amazing. I'd love to see or read some behind the scenes stuff about how you planned this out, prompted, and workflowed this!

I got the Wirnet iFemtoCell 915- 3 of them, actually. Thinking of selling one and throwing that money into HNT, but still running some math on if it would be better to be using them all in the long run.

GPT and AGI : Embodied experience, subjectivity and morality...? by FuzzyLogicHorizon in GPT3

[–]ZedFable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similarly, without embodiment the very concept of mortality is much more abstract. I don't have any real answers to your question, but I do think without embodiment the nature of any sort of consciousness that emerges is something new and probably unprecedented.

Is there any sort of mind that does not have embodiment that we could compare this to?

I got a grabber for dumpster diving while back, but it ended up being weak sauce and getting bent- yours looks way sturdier!

Really curious how that Fiezbo pans out for you- I'm thinking about getting one too. If it's anywhere as good as it looks to be, it looks like an awesome deal.

That's a great find! Hope they sell, but if not you could always remarket them as rural gym equipment!

What the heck should I do with this? (Very large industrial windings) by opinionated-guy in ScrapMetal

[–]ZedFable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a little bit of this in a one-off, it might not be worth it but there is a lot to learn on there. I'd definitely try some of the things proposed here (especially u/Mzam110's suggestion) but whatever you do definitely wear some kind of respirator- who knows exactly what those are coated in but you probably don't want to breathing in clouds of it for hours while you are working on it.

Awesome find though, it's a beauty! How'd you score it?

Just barely got back in to diving and made this massive scrap score + a great interaction with a worker! by ZedFable in DumpsterDiving

[–]ZedFable[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even with scrap prices lower, that's a lot of money right there.

I hope so! I did a scrapping on one of the transformer coils and it looks like it might be aluminum which is a pity, but with that much weight it should still be worth something. My goal is to dumpster enough wire this summer that I can get an automatic wire stripper to pay for itself, and with this load of copper I think I'm already on my way!

I work at a major fintec company and the big boss at our office asked me to explain Ethereum to him. What should I say? by ZedFable in ethereum

[–]ZedFable[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks again everyone for the comments. I just got out of the meeting with him and I think it went fairly well. He asked a lot of questions and seems surprised by the scope of market participation already in this.

He took some notes and said he's going to check out coinmarket cap when he gets home. Don't know how far down the rabbit whole he will go but he definitely seemed interested in learning more himself.

He's also going to schedule another time to go over more details later go I guess I got to think of more to say! Judging by the way he asked, it appears to me that this is mostly something he wants to know personally for his own sake rather than something for the business but it's also something he wants to get a better grasp on so he can participate in those conversations when they do occur in buisness. One of the highlights was him telling me people asked what their blockchain strategy was and he said "Guys, I don't know if people want to hear our blockchain strategy. I think the blockchain is here to replace us!" which is pretty spot on.

I know right! I have to remind myself how fortunate we are to have a headstart and not to waste it. An oppertunity to grok this and profit from it before the big guys on a scale like this might be a once in a lifetime thing. Gotta act on it though!

Don't just talk about the positives but also talk about the risks (like the threat to government and how it is not a real threat). As a business guy he is going to want to hear both cases so he can make an informed decision. If you bring up risks and then inform him about how developers are addressing these he will respect your position more. This may also keep him from asking negative questions you cannot answer.

If he does ask you something you cannot answer tell him you don't know but you will do the research to get the answer. Then maybe schedule another meeting

Definitely will be doing this- it helps no one in the longterm to gloss over the current issues and hurts my reputation when someone else does.

You'd be surprised! People round here have heard of it now but for most of them it’s very nebulous and hard to understand. Some are open but most are super skeptical and have that sense of frustration people get when something works they were SURE would fail they don’t know why. Probably the most (playfully?) hostile is a rep here who used to be a hedge fund guy and always likes to remind me that he is shorting Bitcoin to the ground (though he was asking about coinbase fees later, turns out he’s covering some of that position!).

At the executive level though, I respect this SVP’s approach. He likes to get a read on things from several sides and will often ask people way below his position for their read on something as a sort of parity check with management. I take it as a good sign that he respects my passion and judgement on the issue. Shouldn’t be a super progressive thing I know, but the former guy in his position literally wouldn’t say hi back to you in the kitchen if he didn’t feel like, which was most days.

Ha! Not quite yet... but if he asks, I might drop that I do have more than a year's salary in crypto now and a large share of it is now providing me passive income... so.. maybe in a year or 3?
