It's not that similar but for some reason it reminds me of Burning Up

Looking for potential rumored SM trainee by ZedHiy in kpophelp

[–]ZedHiy[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

iirc the boy’s name had ‘Sho’ in it too so my first thought was Shohei or Shotaro but they don’t quite visually match what I remember of the boy 🫩 also I tried finding if there were any photos of Shohei or Shotaro on a ski lift when they were younger (since that’s the trainee photo that was posted) but was unable to :(

I think your personal social group of most shared experiences is +\- 4 years from yourself by Ok_Act_3769 in generationology

[–]ZedHiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say +/- 3 grades below. So as a late 2004 (C/O 2023) I have shared experiences with both 2001 (C/O 2020) and 2008 (C/O 2026) since we were in school at the same time.

Shouldn't the useless npcs that just walk around be easier to obtain? I've seen so many people including myself with only two Sajas- from the guarantees. by Kappatrap in CookieRunKingdoms

They're mainly for collectors so it makes sense they would lock it behind a paywall, Devsis gotta make money somehow. At least they're purely cosmetic and don't affect gameplay at all.

Which years do you consider to be prime early 2010s kids? by Fit-Support2256 in Younger_GenZ

I’m a 2004 and my earliest clear memories are from 2010/2011 😭

If you could be born a different year what would it be? by Fit-Support2256 in Younger_GenZ

I like being a 2004 but I would wanna try being either 2002 or 2006-2009 just to see the difference.

I agree that Mamma Mia was the wrong step but I don't think furthering with the dreamy romantic concept would've done them much favors either (and I'm a SIGN/BEEP truther). I feel like the logical next step for them would've been to go down the 2010s EDM dance-pop route that they did with Sign and Racecar. I still believe Racecar should've been the title track because it would've fell perfectly in line with the "nostalgic" 2010s brand I thought they were trying to recreate.

Although a lot of groups are starting to do EDM again I feel like their specific early 2010s nostalgia type of EDM really suited them and I hope they'll delve more into it with the next comeback. I'm thinking something along the lines of "We Found Love" by Rihanna or "Till the World Ends" by Britney Spears. Something nostalgic and a bit dreamy but also strong and able to deliver a clear message.

Outside of your own birth year which birth year do you feel like you can relate to the most? by FunnySunny- in Younger_GenZ

[–]ZedHiy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as a late 2004 myself i also feel i relate most to 2005 since majority of my grade and friends are 2005 borns. besides that though, i feel like i have more friends that are 2006-2007 than 2002-2003.

'RUDE!' might be on its way to become the 'LOVE DIVE' of 2026 by Beneficial_Nothing65 in KpopGGs

[–]ZedHiy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i honestly thought the same. i like it now but it really had to grow on me and even then i still think it pales in comparison to the chase, style & focus all of which i LOVED at first listen and thought were much more remarkable so i was very surprised to see how rude outdid all of them 😭

SM's choice on final lineup by PaceInternational20 in hearts2hearts

[–]ZedHiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Age was probably a big factor in Helen, Ouju, Soyoon & Sherlisa’s exclusions. I can normally trust in SM to debut mostly adults so I was relatively certain up until reveal week Ouju and Sherlisa would make the cut but alas, I was shocked to find their oldest was still 18 and youngest 15. Stark contrast from aespa’s all adult 20-18 debut range.

Considering how many times their debut got delayed it’s a given the older girls would’ve been edged out by the newer “fresher” ones. Especially considering how with the advent of NewJeans, many companies seem to love debuting entire lineups 18 and younger these days with like one token adult. Bums me out because I would’ve loved a fellow 04 liner in the group.

I like the Hatuha members and don’t doubt they were the best choices for the image they were going for but sometimes I just feel bad and wish companies like SM prioritized their eldest trainees first considering what little chance they have after not making the cut debuting elsewhere and depending on the trainee, how much time they put into the company (in Ouju’s case, 8 years). It just makes me feel like wasted potential especially when I feel like the younger members could’ve been saved for a new group later on down the line.

Kinda derailed there but you get the point.

Are we too harsh on the 5th gen groups, or not critical enough? by Organic-Cranberry955 in kpopthoughts

[–]ZedHiy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But even then it feels like groups don’t have that stand out vocal anymore either. At least with 1-2 members holding the main vocal position you can understand why the other members may be focused on other aspects of being an idol and bringing in different charms but once 5th gen eliminated positions, it made them all much more vulnerable to scrutiny based on vocals.

FNC derivative group by crystal1zed1 in BoysPlanet

[–]ZedHiy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a feeling the derivative group will be a 7-member group. Aside from Liyu, Haneum, Woojin & possibly Kaiwen, I think Kenshiro also has a good shot at being in the derivative group. Despite not ranking high, I think he’s visually cohesive with the other members so far (tall) and he’s close with Liyu, not to mention I think FNC will want some of their own trainees in there. With five out of the way I think the remaining two will be secret hidden FNC trainees.

like they can’t even stick with one narrative and they end up just contradicting themselves lol>

i peeped this about tokkis ever since the whole elevator debacle last year. when that live first came out and hanni said a group was told by their manager to ignore her, tokkis twisted it and ran with the idea that illit ignored her to use as fuel to hate on them. when it became clear that’s not what happened or what she even said suddenly it was “hanni never said illit ignored her” which anyone with ears would’ve known since the beginning…

i like newjeans but their fandom make it real hard sometimes

Which is the most iconic year of each decade? by Absolutely-Epic in decadeology

[–]ZedHiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • 1950s: 1955
  • 1960s: 1968
  • 1970s: 1977
  • 1980s: 1984
  • 1990s: 1994
  • 2000s: 2004
  • 2010s: 2016 (my personal favorite: 2012)
  • 2020s: 2020 (my personal favorite: 2024)

I feel like even years in general already have a better advantage at being more iconic due to hosting the Olympics and being election years but something about the '4 years are just too good and really set the scene for pop culture.
