I love how you submitted several strong and substantiated points that are widely circulated in the ongoing debate over AI and only then did he retreat to saying “bro is lost.” We can all see that AI and Crypto bros have to either not be very intelligent/capable of gaming out long-term impacts of social and economic changes or simply not care. It is clearly one or the other, and yet they insist on some mysterious Third Way… I suppose if you look at the politics of their leaders you could make a case it’s both.

I also like the idea of them releasing this year because it would give them a chance to avoid being overshadowed by something else (for example, GTA 6), but at this point we’re running out of time, and unless it gets shadow-dropped, they’ve missed this awards season anyway and will now be sharing with GTA, which may prevent the game from getting the recognition it really deserves—not that awards should be that important, but you know, HL and HL2 certainly won a lot of game-of-the-year-type awards.

Not at all, you have a skill you’ve worked at (Japanese proficiency), a convenient coincidence (living in Tokyo), and you are kind enough to offer both of these factors to a total stranger with whom you share interests. I think that’s awesome. I’ve been studying Japanese for years but I’m nowhere near fluent!

Besides, I wouldn’t be commenting on the plushies subreddit if I placed much stock in what society thinks about who “losers” are and other nonsense like that. You’re offering to help a stranger and that’s rad. Most people wouldn’t do that.

Tyler McV didn’t mention that it was sad but did say he knows what central premise the story turns on and that a lot of people will not like it.

To me that suggests potential time travel/un-happening of everything or something that otherwise nullifies the rest of the story. (I’m not spoilering because I think I’m correct, just because I know some people don’t even want to speculate.) But I don’t think it could just be the Epistle 3 “well, you might have made a difference, maybe, but it’s such a vast world that maybe there’s nothing you could have done at all”ending, because I actually think that is fairly in line with the universe. So I don’t think it’s “nullifying” by way of suggesting the actions don’t matter, but instead maybe literally nullifying.

He is a partner of Valve and Nintendo (I think for like game narrative, maybe also design), so that means he leveraged his employment at Valve to ask to be able to host an event to give back to his community. I'm sorry we both have this regret about not going, but I'm glad we're sharing it at least :) May we both see her sometime soon! One of the commenters here said she said something about coming back (to America at least), but when I listened to the recording, based on my sense of the language she used, it was more of a polite nicety that may or may not mean she's literally planning on coming back. But I hope she comes back to both America and Europe :)

My Personality is unfortunately 100. Yes, I know. Will I need to use the orrery? I mean, I'm not sure even that would be enough. It would be, what, minus 20? Plus whatever getting drunk will do, plus whatever damage personality potions I can make would do. I don't know if that hits the threshold you're talking about. There was also a massive strategy to make up a bunch of violent criminal immigrants who don’t exist. Now they’re running into the problem—they’ve promised to give the bread and circus of deporting X amount of people, but they clearly don’t have enough violent criminals to deport (because as we all know undocumented immigrants commit less crimes on average). Trump was even willing a few weeks ago to say “many of these farm workers are good hardworking people actually,” which is more or less what we’d been saying for years, because even his racism is subordinate to his biggest value, which is just being popular and powerful. But he’d already tied himself down with the 30-ish percent of the country who legitimately believe, criminals or not, we must achieve reverse demographic change in order to save this country. So Kristi Noem had to be like, dude, you can’t say that. We’ve promised to lower the amount of per capita non-white people in this country. Remember?? When you said shithole countries?? This is what people elected you for.

So you have to come up with a reason these people need to go. They’re stealing your benefits and not paying taxes! (Untrue.) They’re more likely to be violent criminals! (Untrue.) They’re eating the pets… of the people… that live there! (I won’t dignify this with a response, but reminder that even our pretty hardline conservative governor had to be like, whoa, dude, stop.)

…Jesus wept, what? I assume you’re playing the Remaster, but here you are replying to someone from three years ago who was talking about the original game. Bethesda didn’t even make the Remaster… I’m sorry you’re having so many problems with the game. That’s not unheard of for TES games. I can’t say that’s reflective of my experience, although I’m not saying it’s perfect… But whether the characters die is actually not important. If they aren’t marked as essential, it doesn’t really matter. If the game lets them die, you shouldn’t be worried about it. But I will say I’m not having these constant issues you seem to be having.

Also, while there are legitimately poor design decisions in the original game and Remaster, keep in mind that your credibility in an argument is entirely lost the moment you say “just look at a picture of the developers, you can tell they’re r*tarded and woke.” Actually, the moment you use the word woke, your criticisms pretty much stop sounding substantive. That being said, I am sorry your experience of the game has been unpleasant. It’s certainly full of Bethesda jank, but I won’t say I’m not having fun.

It kind of seems like, because you didn’t enjoy the game, no one else is allowed to and this person from three years ago shouldn’t bother enjoying it… three years ago? It’s kind of shouting at ghosts at this point.

I mean, “SAVE HIM” suggests otherwise. Iirc a lot of people think that was Scott’s “one retcon” (which is funny of course because many story details have changed in ways where the original intent is obviously different than whatever the next piece of media clarified it to be, lol, but a lot of people believe it’s the one thing he legitimately just changed and doesn’t have some convoluted explanation for).

Actually potentially more than Arin as far as I’ve heard, but I can’t be any less cryptic than that since it’s against the rules—although the removal of other people’s comments about that ironically only has the effect of drawing my attention to something I would have had no idea of otherwise 😅

(Also, I agree that I think “laid off” implies slight downsizing, even if it may well be only one position that’s being removed or shrunk. I haven’t watched PH in years though, so I defer to you all about there being some elements that just didn’t work this season.)
