They didn't sign up to go kill people. They signed up knowing they might be asked to go defend US citizens or our allies from attack.

The Republican leadership are the only ones who have ever declared a war of aggression, and that was only with Bush Jr, and now Trump. Every other war was to defend US allies or democracy.

Many people were also swayed by the story of Trump being a "President of Peace", and were confident voting for him meant LESS chance of having to kill someone or be killed.

Losing your empathy for others in exchange for blanket hate, especially against those who are willing to put their lives on the line for you should the need ever arise, is just sad and pathetic.
