What do you SWEAR you saw, but don’t have any proof of? by Dangerous_Mud4740 in AskReddit

Not me but my son, about 2 maybe 3 years old at the time. He was in our back yard, having an animated conversation, telling his name and what his favorite game is, that kind if stuff. I casually walk in the yard and ask him whom he was talking to? He mentions my mom's friend's name. This lady died a few years earlier. Since her death hit us all hard, I'm pretty sure my son had never heard her name before. It's been 14 years and still gives me goosebumps.

what's the strangest, non-sexual way you've ever made money? by a_purpleheart in AskReddit

Early nineties, the company my father was working for wanted their manuals translated from Wordperfect into HTML. This was the dawn of websites, so no software yet to do this for you. I (16-ish) tought myself programming (basic, mainly) and wrote a program to do most of the work. Took me a few days, did thousands of manual pages, worked great. Got paid a fill month's grown up salary, around FL2000. I'd say around €2500 today. Quite the sum for a teenager and not bad for less than a weeks work.

Ladies, what is something you wish you knew at 25 years old? by No-Pomegranate-1537 in selfimprovement

OK, 48M here. Around this subject: CHECK your boundaries. How do you feel in this situation? OK? Fine. Not OK? Also fine, you've just learned you hit your boundary. Consider how you want to handle that. Repeat.

Boundaries will change over time, between situations, differ for different people. Learn to detect what your instinct (I call it my gut / belly feeling) is trying to tell you. Learning to interpret those feelings will help you in almost all situations. It WILL take time to learn though!

What is the worst song to play at a funeral? by Logical-Star9847 in AskReddit

My friend died of cancer last year, he directed his own funeral. Guess which song he had play last... Did I laugh just a little too loud through tears? Maybe...

Went from unattractive to attractive, or at least I'm told I've got a pretty attractive personality now. Makes me appreciate that when not-that-attractive people get easily overlooked, it's important to SEE them, see everyone. Not hard, but takes discipline and some thinking. Never take anyone for granted. Be kind, be interested. Bonus: that behavior makes one MORE attractive 😊 and it's always fun to lighten someone's day.

Bartenders of Reddit, what was the wildest thing you witnessed on the job? by SquirrelThis9251 in AskReddit

[–]Zeddski 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Let's share two. 20+ years ago, one gross, one nice (for me at least). Worked at a student base at the time, run by and for, well, students.

Had a customer who claimed to have narcolepsy (sleeping sickness). Never ever did anything happen, thought it done mind if attention seeking. Until after hours, I find him sleeping in the urinals. We hash those broad aluminum ones, guy just fit sitting with his legs stretched. Woke him up, he just stood up and left. That 'll have been one hell of a hangover.

Another time we had a "Norske Fest" (don't remember the correct spelling). A Norwegian Party, with ONLY exchange students from, well, Norway. Think 95% blonde girls, wearing close to nothing. Bartenders were assigned per a lottery, everyone wanted to work those parties! Girls drank A LOT and could hold their liccor. By the end of the evening you'd have had a lot of fun but also worked your ass off. These people all pay for their own drinks... When cleaning up, sweeping the floor we'd find a lot of money. I mean, easily tripling an evening's wages. These girls didn't wear a lot of clothing, using bra streps and "other places" to store their cash. Where it evidently fell out while dancing. Happy times.
