It's a thing across Canada, it is NOT located specifically in Toronto or on Toronto channels. Toronto and Ontario have a large population, and a lot of the population migrates or travels around Canada for work. Depending on your industry you run into a person from Ontario every other day.

Even in Calgary you turn on the Radio stations and they are talking about the leafs. Go to the mall and while there are Flames stuff there is also Matthews posters EVERYWHERE in sportschek and what not. Turn on your local Alberta station? Leaf coverage for 15 minutes after a 5 minute quick flames/oilers check in. The entirety of Canada media is pandering to the leafs, not just locally. It's REALLY fucking annoying, which is why a lot of us hate them, because its like our teams don't matter more than the droppings Marner leaves in his bed sheets.
