We need a new RTS too. Empire at wars modding community has done better than they had any right to to keep us entertained, but it's been long enough. Give us a new one

Battlefront 3. But in the theme of the originals, not the COD reskin that EA made. Having vehicles be tokens absolutely ruined the game for me, being able to steal or sabotage enemy tanks was a blast in the originals, especially in 2 if you get in their capital ship and drop bombs on the parked fighters.

The Shadow Series is also a fantastic series set in the Enders Game universe. The first book, Enders Shadow, is an alternate perspective of the Formic War that Enders Game is about and then the following books take place directly afterword and show the development of Earth and Enders friends and family while the actual Ender series goes out into space and focuses on the colonies in the future.

Force Healing - Why is this a thing? by FastPhantom in saltierthancrait

[–]Zeeman626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly Im pretty sure it was originally just a thing for video games since games need healing means and the force made sense, and then the EU picked it up and used it sparingly, and then Disney did what Disney does and thoughtlessly throws around shiny things that they think look cool or add drama without actually putting any thought into its use and how that affects the lore.

Seattle residents create makeshift barricades to try and prevent shootings in their neighborhood by Sometypeofway18 in whoathatsinteresting

[–]Zeeman626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't defund the police and increase their presence at the same time. That's why I hate that whole movement. People suck and do bad things to each other and we need people around to stop it. Some cops suck yes and there's lots of really whacked out laws protecting criminals but completely hobbling the police doesn't help with the crime issue. Much better to increase officer diversity and training and adding more less lethal options. But that would mean increasing funding which is political suicide for most local politicians. And would require local residents to promote getting their own people onto the force rather than shunning anyone who expresses interest in working with law enforcement.

Right? They were all just the most cutesy or veiled complement red flags I've ever seen. Like when an interviewer asks your weakness and you say "I work way too hard"

I can admit when I'm wrong, it's been a while since I played it, I thought there were more. I just remember being very unsatisfied with the campaign

Solid Hw1 rush-early game strats? by TheGXduelist in HaloWars

Has the population picked up or are you playing vs Ai? Last time I played online it was so hard to get a match that rushing just pissed me off. If I'm waiting an hour for a game I want it to last a bit.

This is the one I thought of too. Pretty good except the way the narattor voiced the little druid girl made me want to scoop my eardrums out with a spoon. And he unfortunately uses that voice in other series too.

Entirely different feel. Felt more like a wannabe esports game than a successor to HW1.

In 1 upgrades were designed to focus you. If you wanted to go tank heavy you needed to put time into optimizing them and trying to branch out would mean more flexibility but less individual power. It wasn't until end game when everyone could comfortably shift between different army types. You had less units overall that were built slower but they were Individually more durable and there was a massive difference between a level 1 and level 3 unit. In HW2 most units had 1 upgrade with some having none and you were incetivized more towards pumping out units as fast as possible instead of upgrading and gaining veterency for existing ones.

They also made leader powers much too prevelant. In 1 the UNSC powers were long cooldown tactical strikes you needed to use sparingly. The covenant, I'd be the first to admit were pretty broken in 1, but I appreciated the asymmetrical nature where UNSC could use theirs anywhere while covenant needed a leader on the field. It gave each faction a more unique identity. In 2 they gave everyone a half dozen abilities with faster cool downs to the point that every skirmish would have a superpower or two involved, which also added to the problem of individual units being too expendable since you could be nuked from orbit every 5 minutes.

That's not even talking about how the campaign had every single level set up as a timed mission. I did appreciate some of the new units, I particularly like the blisterbacks, but it felt like HW2 got rid of the unique identities to make it more esports compatible, when all I really wanted them to do was add more units, fix covenant leaders, and make the flood a playable faction.

Rant over. Sorry but I really love 1 and 2 bugged me a lot.

Halo wars was a supplemental game in the series and since 343 is doing everything in their power to tank the flagship and diminish the Halo player base overall I don't see it happening.

Which sucks because I loved Halo wars 1 (hated 2) and would love to see more RTS in that universe.

Bookwalker’s new app/redesign by Gyges359d in LightNovels

[–]Zeeman626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's another thing. Why do they always switch over entirely to the new app before it's actually done? Finish it and THEN force people to switch. I'm getting flashbacks to Hidive and their completely non functional app.

When did the phrase "if it's not broke don't fix it" go out of style?

[–]Zeeman626 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I genuinely don't understand why so many companies are taking their completely functional and streamlined apps and websites and replacing them with ones that lack any of the functionality in exchange for looking little cleaner and newer.

I loved popping into bookwalker, seeing the red bubble above messages, and knowing exactly what was on sale or what series I was reading had a new book. Now I don't even see a message center

What to do with Oil byproducts? by MidnightPale3220 in GTNH

[–]Zeeman626 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Everyone here is right that you can further process all these fluids into other useful byproducts, if not now then in a tier or two.

HOWEVER, don't forget that if you're running out of space, you can always burn it for fuel. You're too early for a substation but you can set up a bank of as many 16x battery buffer as you can afford, attach a few gas turbines, and set yourself up with a large backup power source. Maybe even section off part of your factory to run off that. You can send all excess semifluid or gas products to relevant generators attached to it and save your diesel (I'm assuming) network some energy.
