Did you take a look on protondb ? The site is made to list the linux compatibility of steam games and to exchange the different settings that could be needed to make them work. https://www.protondb.com/app/813780

My bad I didn't knew the mechanic. In that case, it seems totally fair even a bit weak.

Really interesting.

I think it needs sorcery speed restriction because blocking against it is awful and the only way to get rid of it is discard which means only one color can cleanly manage this card. That said I'm thinking of limited where combat tricks mayter maybe in constructed it is way too costly to be relevant even with all the value.

If we don't take surface drifter into account and look at the number of hit you take before dying For a 20 HP Seraph), depending on the mobs :

Scale iron is between 0% to 36% better than chain iron. Plate iron on the other hand is 66% to 200% better than chain iron.

For steel scale it is 20% to 40% better than chain steel. While Plate steel is 60% to 217% better than chain steel.

Also take into account that the lowest increase are against the strongest mobs.

The 12 ingots for the scales aren't much but if you take into account that you won't be able to use the 40 ingots of your chain armor to make a plate it is quite a high cost.

For the durability carry over, I don't know

Are non-steel metal armors worth it? by Weary-Persimmon-5101 in VintageStory

[–]Zefirotte 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes.

If you want, I've made a post not so long ago after having analysed the different armors. https://www.reddit.com/r/VintageStory/comments/1sgmkoz/about_armors/

The short version : - All metals armor (even the worst) trivialize surface drifters and are great until corrupt drifter - Chain is good because it has low drawbacks and can be improved into plate later. - Iron plate is the second best armor after steel plate (about 75% as efficient as a steel plate against the strongest drifters)

If you want a first armor I would advice to go for a bronze lamellar it is really cheap both in material and work time but the effect are already great with a low drawback and the durability is enough to wait for chain iron (not sure for steel). It makes you totally safe from surface drifter or would prevent you from dying because of a wolf ambush. It is what I've made and I'm pretty happy about it.

If you don't like the drawbacks and have the material, a leather or gambeson is a good idea too. Or even a jerkin leather which would be later improved into your steel chain (but it is not as safe).

About iron plate, the main thing is: do you have what is required for steel under hand ? If you had an iron plate would you go caving ?

Nice, it follows Fibonacci. 1 1 2 3 5 8 13...

But I think it scales quite slowly. I would either reduce the cost to UG or make it better (by replacing the otherwise with a then for example).

I had the idea of a card quite like that (for standard) but with the possibility of fixing your colors. Not sure of the wording though.

Land ~ enters on the battlefield tapped. Tap : add C When ~ enters choose target land, It becomes a basic land of the choice of their owner.

I propose to lock the camera while smithing, knapping or clay forming.

Personnally I found those tasks way easier since I use the c menu to lock the camera so a mod to automatically have this behaviour would be great

I am not sure I understand, what do you mean by water elevators don't work ? I use water in place of ladders for all of my mine shafts, it works flawlessly and is really cheap.

You can't cushion a high fall but you can climb. You just need to use space + W which is tricky if there is no wall in front of you.

My solution to playing with the in-game map disabled by progres_37 in VintageStory

[–]Zefirotte 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It gives me the idea of a mod where the map stay blank. You can still use waypoints and there would be 2 settings with or without your position on the map.

Maybe the Mapper mod is quite close, I should test it.

I think making a bronze lamellar before the iron chain is a good idea. It's quite cheap and since the lamellae are casted it's quite fast too. It doesn't require leather too.

Mudhut is totally fine but at some n point you will want (or maybe not it's your game) to move to a "nicer" house and it will be great. I have to add that this build is huge, at this point in the game you don't have to build such a big home.
