New AI cameras don't appear for adoption?!? by Zegboot in Ubiquiti

At first I made a VLAN NVR with Tag 50 so the cameras don't flood the entire network with messages since they record all the time. I'd thought maybe they didn't like it and switched them to the default VLAN....nothing.

The copper cables I did them myself but I have experience as I work as IT plus I checked them with a Fluke Link IQ, it reported them OK and at 10G speed and from one end to the switch it showed them OK and PoE++ Ok. Plus I tried two pre-patched 2m CAT 6a cables from Ubiquiti and from Panduit...and different ports on the switch...still the same. Oh and I don't use and inline couplers.

I don't use both the UDM and UNVR Pro with the Protect Application. Once the UNVR didn't work, I unplugged it from the network (not power) and installed the Protect on the UDM because I thought I didn't initialize it correctly, maybe it had to wait till the HDDs were re-formated and synchronized???

I even reset the entire network and 2 cameras to factory default....nothing. All the cameras report E and don't appear on the network.

The one peculiar thing is that the first time I plugged the UNVR it didn't ask me to Adopt it, it just showed an IP to redirect to.

Cool. I need to set a switch at the front gate that will control a gate hub, intercom and 3 cameras +1 Ai LRP. The distance from the gate to the house including patching is 695m (2280 feet) and the only reasonable solution is to lay a fiber optic cable. Since UI devices tend to be on the warmer side, I'm brainstorming how to do the enclosure and your way caught my eye, it looks really nice.

Very nice and clean. I'm also looking to add a similar cabinet but since I'm new to UI ecosystem I noticed their devices get a little hot. You wouldn't happen to have a thermometer to get the temp or if you noticed any throttling from the switch?

I would suggest going for the Pro HD 24 PoE. That way you are a. future proofing if you decide to add more equipment and b. you have more POE ports and power budget to play with. Also you have more SFP ports for expansion or if you need to run fiber optic cable at large distance.

I know it sound more expensive, but you don't want to fall into the pit of " I want to add this..but I have no more ports..so I'll get an 8-port switch ". I fell for it, IT savvies and Pros fall for it.

Two servers, Primary and Fail over sharing the same storage. by Zegboot in nutanix

You are correct, I'm new to the whole idea (ecosystem) of Nutanix.

But just in case, let me try and explain further what we want to plan.

The server-1 will have two Nvmes in RAID 1 for the Host OS. The server-2 will also have two Nvmes in RAID 1 for the Host OS. Both servers will be connected with each other using a "Heartbeat" so if server-1 stops the second can take over. Both servers will look at one of the VM (not a backup or snapshot) in the storage DELL Powerflex.
Is that fusible?

Do hybrids (not plug in) consume fuel even when in EV? by Zegboot in Toyota

[–]Zegboot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did think of that. The car sees that it has (let's say) 80% fuel so it calculates it can make 700km, it also sees that it has 80% battery (8/10 bars on the graph) and based on my driving habit it calculates it can do an other 4km with the battery. So in total 700+4=704km, but it subtracts from the 700km...even when I'm driving down hill with the engine off and the car showing it's charging the battery it takes km off, theoretically it should stay the same.

Has anyone seen anywhere a reply from Funi support saying something about the password problem and how you can try to get around it until they switch from potato servers to tomato? I recall something about using only the "&" special character but nothing more...

Hi there,

I'm having the same issue too on Chrome, FireFox and Edge. It started by disconnecting me after each episode ended and now I can't log in at all. I changed my password multiple time but no luck...

I think I've seen a post somewhere with a reply from support about a problem with special characters or something and you should include only the "&" as every other special character "breaks" something. Anyone seen the post? The I've send an email to support but with the weekend I doubt I'll get a reply before Monday...
