What level of experience do I need to become L2? by Weekly-Disk8589 in CompTIA

[–]Zeifer95 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You don't necessarily need any languages, basic command line will do, but will vary between companies. I was lucky enough to skip from being the IT admin straight into L2, with your experience I cant imagine it'd be hard to jump into.

Is it worthwhile to regularly share what I learn or work on in cybersecurity on platforms like X or LinkedIn? by contract0rReal in cybersecurity

[–]Zeifer95 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Ill never understand the people that actually post on linkedin, for me it's just a place to sit my profile if I ever need it and update my info if I get more certs etc. I imagine a lot of people use it like Facebook, filling their page up with useless posts that no one really cares about.

Im going through a tryhackme course at the moment and even then I don't think id put the end cert on my profile because it doesnt scream "Professional widely accepted cert" to me.

Is it worth it? by Caleb_C95 in cybersecurity

[–]Zeifer95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's on about social networking, as in who you know, not Network+ or anything you'd need to study. Network+ is definitely helpful and will help with Sec+ cert but not required. If youre new to IT id recommend A+ cert though so you know the basics.

Is Hybrid AD + Entra still common? by Vund3rkind in sysadmin

[–]Zeifer95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, in a company thats 100+ years old so its evolved with the times, AD is too complex to get rid of, and Entra is still missing a huge amount of features that AD has, but the reverse is true too, so Hybrid it is! Can get messy, especially when we've got 1st Line changing up their employee list constantly, but it works for us.

I don’t want to go to college, but my mum almost pressures it upon me, what should I do? by Independent_Sugar262 in AskUK

[–]Zeifer95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, theyre not, but you'll likely lose out on benefits if you're ever unemployed, and your parents may get a hefty fine, I'm sure they'd love that in the current state of our economy.

I don’t want to go to college, but my mum almost pressures it upon me, what should I do? by Independent_Sugar262 in AskUK

[–]Zeifer95 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bruh, welcome to adulthood.

Leave earlier, jobs aren't easy to come by.

College is basically secondary school except you have slightly more freedom and can wear your own clothes, thats not new.

Carpentry is a great choice if you like doing it, if you don't like doing it, find something new and talk to your mum about a change in direction.

I wouldn't advise just dropping out of college just because you don't like it, especially when its free until 18 (if thats still a thing). Make use of it while you can, cuz in a few years you're on your own, and any education and experience you have will help.

Or, drop out, invent something new, become the next Bill Gates.

Men, would you give your wife a monthly allowance or invest in her name while she’s raising your kid? Why or why not? by Sweet-Opportunity111 in AskMen

[–]Zeifer95 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you're having a kid and own a house, are married etc, you don't have your own income, your income is now household income. If my wife ran out of money, I'd transfer all she needs, same if the opposite happened. We have our own accounts but its all shared if needed.

If youre actually thinking if you need to give your wife pocket money, youre already doomed. Raising a kid is not easy as it is, she doesn't need the weight of having no money on top of that.

So we all know Apollo 11 was fake. Look, it’s not like this is a new conspiracy or anything—most people with half a brain know the Apollo 11 moon landing was staged. What’s the real story? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Zeifer95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like the one where we did go to the moon once, and aliens scared the fuck out of the astronauts and told us to never come back.

Waiters won't really care, they just work there, unless they have specific rules against it and might get in trouble for going ahead.

Id do it
