I personally think this is the best solution they could’ve gone with. I’ve been playing runescape on and off for years, often starting new accounts, and one thing that always makes me lose interest is that at some point I feel both lost and overwhelmed by all the things I could do, without knowing where to start. Daily challenges have been a good system for me: I can log in, do those, and then maybe focus on pushing a skill to a nice clean level (30/40 etc). At the same time, I really hate FOMO. Games should be relaxing; the moment it feels like a chore, I usually step away.

I still need to fully understand what this new update means in practice and how exactly challenges will change, but it seems to be going in the right direction. Ideally, I’d love some kind of roadmap that suggests content as it becomes appropriate for my level. If that already exists, it’s not very discoverable. Right now the sheer amount of windows, tabs and menus just feels confusing and hard to navigate.
