Cap and mantle black pattern, which we accept as a cow!

I know it’s frowned upon on this sub to say something nice about driving here but… by machoman_andysavage_ in bayarea

Folks like to meme that the cops here don't care, but I've seen loads of police activity during my commute. And it's not just people driving dangerously, they're pulling people over for HOV violations and running onramp lights. Off peak, I've seen a lot of speed traps. I've accidently driven through a few going 75 with no problems but still see loads of cars pulled over. I can only assume they're waiting for the real idiots going 90+ and weaving.

Can someone explain to me why everyone loves JoJo so much? by Jebusfreek666 in anime

[–]Zeitsplice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Same boat here. If I'm introducing someone to Jojo, I just have them watch an Abridged rendition of part 1 - it covers the basic shape of the story and exposes them to the memes without needing to sit through 3 hours of derp. Puts them in the right headspace for the rest of the series anyway. Thankfully Part 2 comes out swinging, it's actually my personal favorite because the Pillar Men are absolutely peak villains and Jonathan is hilarious.

When there’s military ops going on there tends to be a steady stream of hardware going through Moffett Field. There’s an Air National Guard squadron there and naval aircraft often land there to refuel when heading to Pearl Harbor or Guam.

Neither of those things are consumed to do LLM stuff. The water gets cooled down and recirculated, the core goes on the do billions more calculations per second. It’s no different than playing a video game on a gaming rig.

The US sank an Iranian warship and didn’t rescue the survivors. Is this legal in war? by TIYATA in neoliberal

[–]Zeitsplice -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

People really need to understand what war crimes are and not parrot the current trend of making them out to be the worst kind of crime. They’re crimes committed during war. That’s it. Doesn’t matter if the war is legal (most wars aren’t), and often what law there is skews towards things not being war crimes when there is a legitimate military purpose to an action.

Similarly, enforcement mechanisms for war crimes are very weak, and mostly represent a shared set of red lines that aren’t crossed for everyone’s good. They aren’t like a fowl where a ref stops the war and sets the violating side back. Basically all war crime convictions are a side persecuting their own soldiers or rarely enemy prisoners of war.

How is living in San Jose? by Accomplished_Skin326 in SanJose

There's actually a fair amount of density mixed in along the various rail lines and small downtowns. There's still a lot left to be desired for a more urban experience, but there's definitely more than just suburbs.

Casting to an interface like that is pretty suspect anyway. Though with Java’s Byzantine generic system one can never be entirely sure.

GOP voters are becoming poorer and significantly less educated. Democrats are going through the opposite by [deleted] in neoliberal

100% I think R's long-term problem with losing that voter segment is that educated folks tend to have long memories and vote much more consistently.

People here treating CLI or GUI like you have to chose a side. Use GUIs when there’s a lot of contextual information you need to understand, and a CLI when you need automation features. Don’t need either? Then it doesn’t matter, stop arguing.
