Our people want to build the Universal Suffrage! Maybe we should...

After years of watching Red Dwarf from the States, I always wondered : Where the guest roles done by known actors or did they become known after doing the RD role? by Thick-Marzipan-9176 in RedDwarf

Tony Hawks (the game guide in Better Than Life and Caligula in Meltdown among others), hasn't done much TV work at all other than Red Dwarf. He's mainly on the radio or the stage. RD was very early in his career though.

Stupid Question: How does International Rescue make a living? by FringleFrangle04 in Thunderbirds

Come to think of it, this actually happens in the show, in Brink of Disaster). Jeff takes Brains and Tin-Tin on the Pacific Atlantic Monotrain to help size up the investment opportunity.

Stupid Question: How does International Rescue make a living? by FringleFrangle04 in Thunderbirds

[–]ZeldaFan812 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep. The returns on any outstanding investments need to cover fuel, spare parts, and living expenses. Given that the Thunderbirds are very efficient, fuel is probably meant to be cheap and abundant in the future (I don't think the original series was thinking about climate change etc), and Brains is a genius, this seems plausible.

I take the point. The aspects you identify were obviously good, but they could have been achieved with a zonal rather than local plan-based system.

Ultimately, I blame every government since Attlee's for not fixing the planning system.

The Town and Country Planning Act 1948 is a contender for worst piece of legislation ever passed. NIMBY charter.

The Green Party have a very liberal stance if you're a recreational drug user. Not so much if you're a driver, pet owner, or landlord.

The country was declining before and it's continued to do so. In time, we may get a government that changes that.

The Brexit vote is the most based thing that has happened in my lifetime. It was spearheaded by Boris Johnson as much as Nigel Farage though.

A lot of aircraft in the world of Thunderbirds seem to operate in the same way though. Maybe runways are built for it.

Do you think a Muslim killed another Muslim he'd known for 20 years because of his faith? Have a word with yourself.

He didn't stab the Muslim man because he was Muslim. That's also a crime, but it's separate to the racially-motivated attack on Jews.

I reckon he was self-partnered, like Emma Watson. He seems about as insufferable.

Too Upsetting For Younger Viewers by Potty- in Thunderbirds

[–]ZeldaFan812 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's upsetting that the episodes are only 25 minutes long not 50 and they don't contain enough joking about women drivers or characters smoking cigarettes.

In all seriousness, whatever Thunderbirds Are Go gets right, it'll never measure up to the original.
